Hello Fellow Tummy Tucker's! Let me start by saying I've truly enjoyed reading about all of your experiences and helpful tips. I came upon this site just a few days before my procedure and I'm finally posting my story.
I'm 40 years old and the proud mother of two girls 6 and 9 years old. I'm 5ft 4in and approximately 157 lbs. I had a BA in 2008 by the same surgeon and was pleased with the results so that's how I decided to go back to him for my TT, Flank lipo and hernia repair. I'm moderately active and exercise 3-4 days a week. My decision to have a TT was a fairly easy one. My pregnancies left my belly flabby and distorted and as you can see my belly button became herniated and was far from attractive. I spend a lot of time in a bathing suit in the spring and summer and I was tired of always trying to conceal my belly. I told my husband I wanted a TT for my 40th birthday and he agreed but he made it clear he didn't think I needed one and loved me just the way I was.
I went to my Dr. In early Dec. 2012 and scheduled my surgery that same day. My husband took me to my surgery appt. on Jan. 10th. It took a total of 2 hours and we went home. My Mom stayed with me for a week to take care of me and my girls. She was a Godsend! I was very uncomfortable for the first few days. Sleeping was difficult and my back killed! My husband bought me a heating pad and that helped a lot! It took me 5 days to have a BM and boy was that painful! My drains were removed after a week and it was the best feeling ever. I walked hunched over for about 2 weeks and I swear I thought I'd never walk upright again. The recovery time is much longer than with a BA and you really have to listen to your body. Swell hell is no joke. Mine finally subsided after about 4 months. I'm still tender in my abdomen.
I'm very pleased with my overall result however, I'm a bit unhappy with the height of my incision. My scar is nice and thin and starting to gradually fade but I have a hard time concealing it in most of my bikinis and underwear. I had my 6 month PO appt. on Monday and spoke to my Dr. about my options. He said a scar revision would be my best bet and that he could probably do it with a local anesthesia. I'm still waiting to hear back from the patient coordinator on how much that will cost. She initially said it would be $2500 but I told her the Dr. said he could do it with a local so she told me she would speak with him then call me. Still haven't heard from her. Not sure if I'm going to do it yet. I might wait to see if my scar fades more within the next 6 months before considering going under the knife again.
So that's my story in a nutshell. I'm definitely glad I did it and I'm loving my new, flat belly! Clothes fit much nicer and no more muffin top. Best of luck to all of you on your recovery and upcoming surgeries. You're all worth it. Take care.
**I'm trying to upload photos from my iPad but when I press the Add Photo button nothing happens. Any tips?? I'm going to go ahead and post my narrative until I figure this out.

Thanks for sharing your experience and pics. As you know I will be getting a TT with muscle repair and lipo by Dr. Hu (in 3 days). You had less to take off than me, but you look AMAZING!!! And your scar is sooooo thin!! Congrats to you!!! :)

Thank you for sharing with us:)
You look absolutely wonderful. I would give it some more time before doing the scar revision. They take a couple of years to heal properly. What you can be doing now is the firm, circular massage on the scar with the Bio Oil. Give it a try and it can only help.

I'll definitely try the Bio Oil massage. I've decided to wait on the scar revision. Too expensive and so not worth going under the knife again. I'm very happy so far. Thank you!

You look great! I live in Valencia as well but am scheduled at UCLA in November. I am very nervous, but if I can get your results it will be worth it. I work out 5-6x per week and am about your height and weight with the same hernia! You were standing up so well in your after shots it was amazing!

Thank you! I'm so happy I finally decided to do it. Totally worth it! I'm looking forward to hearing about your experience and seeing your before and after photos. Just remember to take it easy for the first few weeks and let your family take care of you. Best of luck to you!

I am just looking forward to wearing all the clothes I won't wear now Because they show the stomach so much. ...I think I will feel liberated! Lol. I am Also preparing myself for maybe not being happy 100% with the scar or results. ..I hope I am happy but just in case.

You'll look awesome in your clothes. Just remember it takes a few months for the swelling to subside so don't get frustrated. My only advice would be to make sure your PS knows exactly where you'd like your scar to be. I don't think I made that clear enough. I was never concerned about the scar. I knew it would be long but I also new that with time it would fade in color. I just wish it was lower. You're decision to do this in Nov. is smart. By the time bikini season rolls around you'll be looking and feeling awesome!
