Hello I'm having my TT on the 2nd of January. Since I found out when it was gonna be I've been having dreams (bad) about the surgery. I don't know why I'm scared because I have had 3 major and 6 minor surgeries. Just want to know how you've been feeling about it. I've been reading a lot about it and reading reviews and it's about 50/50 saying its a good thing and the other saying they wish they never did it!

It's a big surgery and a lot depends in how well your body heals, how much skin is removed and repair is done, if you had back problems before there's a good chance that your back will be affected more than someone who hasn't had any back issues. I am still having mixed feelings about my surgery as it's a harder recovery than I anticipated. Too late now .. All done, lol. I wasn't at all scared or nervous as I was so excited to see my flat tummy. I'm 12 days post op, no flat tummy and my back kills me. It really depends on you, your support system and your desire to follow through till the end. I started at a good weight with a year of diet and exercise and a 34 pound weight loss. I consider myself pretty fit so I thought it would be an easy recovery. From what I've been reading in some posts I guess it's been easier than some others. The surgery went wonderfully. My PS is fab. Hunching and swelling is driving me nuts.

Valdosta- you will second guess your surgery before and sometimes maybe after. It's very natural to be scared. It's a lot of money and a big scare. I had my surgery Nov 22~ my last post I was down because of my swelling and I thought what the heck did I do. My big swelling problem is now down and I'm very happy. Yes my scare is big and it seems higher than I wanted BUT my gut doesn't unzip my pants zipper anymore. Lol. If this is really what you have wanted for years then do it. If you have any question don't hesitate to ask. I asked so many ! I will post my 5 week pics Friday. Good luck

I didn't know the reviews were bad. It looks like in this forum tummy tucks are the second best rated after mommy makeover which is tummy tuck plus BA. I was scared too. I had the nightmares of lying on the table like a near death experience. I'm ok and almost 1 month post now. I would def get some support with family or friends. If you really want to do this then focus on how your body has done great in the past and that if the doctor has okayed the procedure you will see great results.

Its very normal for you to feel that way. The same happened to me - bad dreams of outcomes or problems during surgery, etc. The thought of calling it off crossed my mind. Had feelings of guilt, and I even had an upset stomach if you know what I mean just 30 hour priorvto surgery. Anyhow, 'm now 5 days post op. My recovery has been wonderful. It will be ok :)

Hello hello hello...... I'm scheduled to have my surgery on this Thursday the 16th!!! Anything I should know before I go? Are there any items I may need to bring? My biggest question is how bad will I be hurting after the surgery?

Not hurting a lot just very sore. You'll be ok. Take your pain meds on time even if you think you're not in pain.

I had a hard time getting out of bed so my recliner was a life saver! Also, I'd get snacks, high protein and fiber, to have close to your sleeping or hanging out area. I pretty much stayed in my bedroom for the first 4 or 5 days. Good luck. Rest up, hydrate and eat healthy.
