My vaginal repair/tightening journey at age 24
ORIGINAL POST
My Vaginal Repair Adventure!
daisyunicornJuly 19, 2018
I’m having a labiaplasty, vaginoplasty and cystocele and rectocele repair in two days on July 20. I’m from Ohio and traveling to Atlanta for the procedure. I had one child at 18 and the delivery was veryyyy rough. I have a lot of issues with air getting trapped inside and just not feeling tight enough - at my age I just can’t accept that (I’m 24). I’m nervous for my surgery but also really excited!! I will post pics after I have a before and after together!

Today is the day!!! I saw my doctor yesterday for my pre op and everything went well. I’m super anxious so he helped reassure me that everything will be fine and also directed me to some really cool local places to enjoy the evening before surgery.
Today we will be doing a cystoccele, rectocele, entrocele repair and labiaplasty with vaginal tightening. I’m really scared because this is my first surgery and I’m also not excited about not having sex for 2 months afterwards, but I know the results will be worth it. :)
It’s 9:16 am and I will be going to the hospital at 10:30 and having the surgery at 12:30. It should take around three hours in the OR and then an hour or so in recovery.
I’ll post pictures as soon as I can with an update on how everything went!!

Late on updating! 10 days post op

I have been super busy with traveling and the first few days after surgery I was pretty out of it.
When I got to the hospital I was brought back to a pre op room where they started an IV and gave me some medicine for post op nausea etc. They eventually gave me versed to relax me and then took me back to the operating room. I kind of freaked out when they went to put the mask on me and told them I might change my mind LOL the nurse said that it was too late and put the mask on me anyways. I remember my hearing fading out and the next thing I know I was waking up.
I was taken back to the post op area with a nurse for about and hour and a half. I didn’t feel ANY pain at that time. I kept telling my nurse how great I felt and she asked me to please take a nap LOL
I was then taken up to my hospital room when I stayed for 2 days. The typical time in the hospital is 23 hours, however I was feeling a little weak from not eating and stayed a little longer.
The first night is pretty rough. I had a catheter in overnight and the pain came on quickly. The pain is a mixture of stinging, pressure, and throbbing. I felt as though I was in labor and bearing down the first 2-3 days.
My nurses gave me morphine and it did NOTHING for my pain so they tried dilaudid which worked! By day 2 I started using ibuprofen which honestly worked the best for my pain.
I had bad nausea and vomiting the day after surgery and my nurse gave me Zofran which helped a lot.
In the hospital it is pretty hard to sleep because the nurses come in every 30-60 mins to check on you and take your vitals. The pain is hard to manage the first couple of days and I just couldn’t get comfortable. I decided to shower the day after surgery which felt amazing. Showers have been really good pain relief during this whole recovery.
Going to the bathroom.... I was so afraid that it would REALLY hurt but honestly it isn’t that bad. Urinating the day after surgery stung a little bit, but no more than a mild uti. Having a bowel movement was hard the first day or two as the painkillers made me constipated. I took stool softeners and drank prune juice and drank miralax and finally was able to go. The pressure does hurt the first time or two after surgery but by day 3 bowel movements felt normal again.
The good news: after I went home from the hospital (2 days post op) I only took one more ibuprofen and one of my oxycodone and have not needed any painkillers or ibuprofen since! :)
The pain days 3-10 have been very manageable. If I stand too long or sit on something hard, I do feel pain but it gets less everyday. Ice packs have been a lifesaver!
We drove home (9 hours) on post op day 7. The car ride was uncomfortable but still manageable without needing any pain medicine.
The worst part of this whole journey so far has been my anxiety and that is starting to get better.
Overall this experience has gone WAY better than I thought it would and my results are amazing so far!
The cystocele repair didn’t hurt at all. The rectocele repair is what gave the pressure pain the first few days, and the labiaplasty is sore and swollen. I only had labiaplasty on one side as I only had one enlarged labia. The perineum is sore but not too bad.
I will post pics now of my before and after so far! :) *there is swelling and bruising from the surgery and it will take 8 weeks to see the final result*

Hi! I see your last post was a while ago. I have had 3 large babies and feel nothing, I also naturally lubricate very well which also decreases my sensation. I have been contemplating getting surgery. To be very honest my vagina looks just like yours. I had an episiotomy with my first child and I don’t think it was stitched all the way back up. The distance from my vag opening to my anus is shorter. What was the cost, how do you feel sexually and also you have listed some fancy words for the types of procedures... what do they mean?
