Dr. Litrel and his staff have been amazing. I'm five days post op and still recovering, but I wouldn't change a single thing about this decision. Dr. Litrel has an incredible heart for his patients.

Day 6 Post Op
alisallJune 16, 2020
The pros:
I can already tell I look much more proportionate. The inner/ outer labia reduction and clitoral hood reduction removed so much saggy skin.
I can already see that my vaginal opening is much much smaller. Before surgery, you cold see my entire insides ha. I had pretty severe uterine and rectal prolapse before surgery. Overall, everything looks amazing
Dr. Litrel personally texts and calls me to check in my progress he’s been a personal guide from day one. I’ve had many surgeries and hospital stays between three vaginal births, tummy tuck , breast implants and an appendectomy; I have NEVER experienced a doctor who truly cares as much as Dr. Litrel. Everyone at the hospital matches his compassion and eagerness to serve.
While sitting down, I do not hurt at all. You can read below about the pain I’m having to understand what’s happening.
The cons:
After surgery I wasn’t in much pain. Of course I still had the IV pain meds. The first night was also fairly comfortable given I had just had surgery. Day 2 my packing was removed early morning. I’m not sure if it was that or the surgery meds wearing off but I started hurting when I moved my legs. I was set to be discharged after lunch. We removed the IV and received discharge papers. As I started dressing I realized I couldn’t stand more than a few minutes without debilitating pain - like scream out labor pain. The pain ran up the back of my leg and into my groin area on the left. The nurse helped me back to bed and had a new IV placed. It was obvious I was staying another night.
I came home the following day (2 nights in he hospital). My husband drove the 2.5 hours home. On the way, I sat on a doughnut and managed to ride with minimal pain.
Arriving at home was a much different story. I couldn’t walk up our drive without my legs shaking in pain. My left leg/ groin area throbbed when I put weight on it. My husband managed to get me inside and settled.
During this time, I realized I couldn’t hold my urine. We put absorbent pads under me in the bed. I tried that night to go to the bathroom and literally got stuck. I stood up and could not walk back to the bed without screaming in pain. It took 20 minutes of my husband helping lift each leg. That was June 12th.
Today is June 15 and I’m still unable to leave my bed unattended. I cannot hold my urine ... Dr. litrel believes I’m having bladder spasms (party gift that some get after this surgery).
None of this is common. I still have no regrets on Day 6, but I am frustrated by the lack of mobility and tender bladder/ incontinence issues. It’s really just a waiting game now to see if this subsides. I’ll post before and current pictures on my next update.

Oh no, hope you have a lot of time off from work. My surgery is next month (July 27) and it’s about 2 weeks before my son starts school, I’m hoping I’ll be mobile by then

I'm fortunate that I work for myself ... made my workload for the next few weeks pretty much from home. I think everyone handles this so differently. I seem to be extra lucky ha ;)

Day 7

I’ll start going to weekly updates from here. That format helped me the most in reviews I read. I received so much guidance from posts like these leading me to surgery ... just hoping my experience can give equip others in this journey.
I showered off last night before bed. I can’t stand for a long period of time wikis hurting (the doctor believes this pain is due to the stitches needs to suspend my uterus). I’ve learned that I have 20-30 seconds once I stand up before the pain starts. I had my husband place the plastic donut in our bathtub and prepare the water temp on our faucet sprayer. I moved quickly to to get in there and get settled without any pain! I sat and washed my hair and body in an empty tub using the hand sprayer to rinse. It has been the best way I have found so far.
Pain is practically non-existent without movement. At the same time, a minor move can set things off and cause the stinging pain I wrote about earlier. The doctor is very encouraged by this. He said it’s an indication my body has lots of healing to do and doesn’t want movement. I had extensive surgery and my body simply needs to heal. I think sometimes we forget this in our fast-paced world… One week ago I completely redesigned my vagina haha. It’s not all rainbows and butterflies yet ;)
I’m posting a before picture and a current picture. Again, I’m already amazed at the difference. I’m bruised and you can still see some of the yellowish glue in the after picture. But I’m very encouraged that this is simply one week into recovery :)
