7 Days Post Op

So my progress is going really well. Sunday Dr Klink took out 1 drain Sunday. asked him how much he took of and he said a little more than 3 pounds of skin! Man I couldn't believe I'd been carrying that around lol. Monday he took out the other drain. He also took the stitches out of my belly button. And man is it ugly. I hope it starts looking better soon. He also taped the incision. Then of course he scared me a bit by saying if I didnt keep it easy 4 the nxt 2 days he would use a huge shot to drain out my tummy. OUCH! I did go get my nails and feet done today I mean thats sitting dwn right? I also went to see the new 50 Shades of Grey movie, loved it. Today was the 1st day I drove myself anywhere so I didnt take any pain meds or muscle relaxers. I took 4 extra strength Tylonal and I felt pretty good. By the time I got home though I could barely keep my eyes open. Tomorrow I have another Dr appt, hope it goes well. My mom still has my girls, they come and visit but by the end I am pooped. Cant wait to get them back though, the house is way to quiet without them. My only concern is having a set back. I really want to make sure Im well enough to take full care of them. Im still sleeping on my back, I feel like Im pregnant again, I really want to roll over lol.

Post op day 3

I'm so happy with my recovery so far! Today was the 1st day I didn't wake up @ 4am in serious pain. I still had my alarm set to wake me up every 3 hrs but @ my dr appt today he said I could start taking the meds as I saw fit. So that's great. I took my 1st shower last nite and it was a lot easier than I thought. I couldn't wait to see myself naked and I was so happy with the results already. The hardest part was putting the garment back on, more because it's so tight and uncomfortable. Dr Klink said by the end of the weekend I would probably be able to stop using the leg compression thingy so that's good. Also he said either tomorrow or Monday he would stop using the gauze and start using the tape. I'm almost done taking the shots so hopefully he'll take the drains out soon as well. I think I may have over done it today. Went to Target and even though I was in the electric chair by the time I got home I went straight to sleep. Dr Klink is happy with my recovery and so am I. Will post again soon.

Post op Day 2

So my operation was a success. I went in @ 9am and by 12pm I was awake and ready to head home. I brought in my daughters rocking chair from her nursery, and I propped pillows up and slept on and off in that for the rest of the day. That night I propped myself up with pillows in bed and slept that way. The nurse gave me a schedule of times for me to take my meds and that has really helped. As long as I take them like clock work I am fine. Ive noticed @ at 5am each morning I wake up and am in the most pain. Sometimes I end up taking 2 pain pills with the anti nausea medicine and that helps. The 1st day I went back for my appt they noticed I was a little dehydrated so they gave me an IV with fluids and pain and nausea meds as well and that really helped. I still have not eaten much though, a few pieces of toast, ginger ale, lots of water, and a few spoonfuls of soup. They said I could take a shower today so Im excited and dreading that @ the same time. I know putting the garment and compression socks back on will be hard. But I have my hubby here and he's been a huge help. My parents are keeping my kids. Originally they were only supposed to keep them until sunday, but I think they're going to keep them a few more days. Walking has gotten a lot easier, getting in and out of bed has not been that much of a problem anymore. The 1st night I couldn't bend down enough to unplug the leg suction thingy, but now Im a pro lol. Overall I think Im healing very well. When I went to the Dr they cleaned me up and took the garment off for a while and OMG I can already see a difference. This process was work it. I don't regret anything, and am so glad I chose Dr. Klink. He and his staff are excellent. I love that Im in there everyday and they check me out and give me what ever medication I need. Haven't had a chance to take pix yet, but honestly from what I saw in the Dr office its not as gruesome as I imagined it would be. Will write again soon.
