Took me a long time to finally get my nose job. No reason for hesitation, if anything the expense (I'll frugal ;).
I'll make this short: I got my cast & bandage off yesterday & I know it's swollen but it looks pretty upturned and "piggy" due to my large nostrils. I'm concerned. I see the results of others & it appears they're results are a good indication of what it will look like after the swelling goes down. My DR said a lot of work was done on the tip so that's where most the swelling is going to be and it is very sensitive & still numb and still VERY bulbous. I'm worried! Has anyone else had this? Please let me know.

I had open rhinoplasty a few weeks ago and I was concerned about the same. My tip has come down a bit with time and has made a huge difference. It's definitely hard with all the swelling. Its the hardest to do but give it some time. Hang in there!!

Looking good! I was told that the swelling can take months - even over a year to completely subside. Everything has to settle down into it's new position.

I had mine done almost 4 weeks ago - and am happy so far - but I know that the appearance will change further over the next few months. My tip is still larger than I think it will be. It's all a bit numb too! Where my hump was removed there is a bump and swelling - I have been told that will decrease too. I can tell that there is swelling as if I wear my glasses I get an indentation across the bridge of my nose which takes hours to go away. It doesn't hurt - but is very obvious.

These things take time. Rest up - and look after yourself. Enjoy the shape of things to come. :)

Thanks!!! I feel better now! I think I watch to many plastic surgery shows. The cast comes off & they're all emotional & it looks perfect. I guess I'm just anxious & a bit nervous. My nostrils done appear symmetrical neither does the tip. I know I have to be patient. I just don't want to settle & have to live with an adequate looking nose especially for the amount of time it took me to make this decision. My friends don't think twice about going under the knife, I'm the total opposite. Anyway, thank you. Your post made me feel better!!
