30 day update
I had additional areas (not the same as before) done 2 weeks after the first. These additional treatments treated the abdominal area to the flanks. I really notice that my love-handles are smaller. I think because the first treatments treated the back of the flanks and the second treated the front of the flanks. That is the same for my arms. I did opposite sides on the bicep/tricep areas. I don't notice a huge reduction, but less round fullness. The areas look more flat. Also, cellulite seams less. I wonder if these observations are just because of inflammation...kind of like anti-wrinkle creams. Most creams cause inflammation that causes plumping resulting in a less wrinkled effect. I'm going to keep observing. At this point, I feel like the results are real and not just results of inflammation.
I just did my 1st treatment of...
I just did my 1st treatment of Coolsculpting/Advantage. I am going to see how this compares to Liposuction. I had Lipo 7+ yrs ago around 21 years old (2001). I was 120lbs. By 30 years old (2011) I gained weight to 140lbs. The surgery was to different parts of my body as you get bigger in the areas that you have not had Lipo. The fat cells are sucked out and gone for good. At 36 (2018), I have gained more weight and inches. The areas that did Not have Lipo gained the most fat/inches. This is especially in my breasts and lower legs. The Liposuctioned areas are a little bigger. I believe this is just the remaining fat cells getting bigger as opposed to more fat cells forming. Both surgeries went well.
I feel that Lipo and Coolsculpting are similar in the following ways. They both cause Tissue Damage, Swelling, and then the body has to Repair itself. They both leave some scar tissue under the skin because of the inflammatory response to the damage created by the procedures. It took about 3 months for the inflammation/slight swelling to become minimal with Lipo. From 3-6 after months after Lipo, certain activity (exercise) would cause inflammation/slight swelling.
The final results of my Liposuction procedures didn't show completely for a little over a year. That is normal. I was pleased with my results from both Liposuction procedures. I lost a lot of weight and inches with the 1st procedure, but not as much with the second. This was with similar eating and exercise. I believe the first procedure went so well because I was young and had a better metabolism. In addition, the body needs more calories to repair the body after Lipo. I am guessing this may also be the case with Coolsculpting. In addition, the results from the first Coolsculpting may not be complete until 8 months after the procedure.
I've noticed a lot of negative reviews are because of not being aware of how long it takes to see results. They also only went for 1 treatment. I don't expect immediate results and will try 2 treatments before deciding if it was worth it. I'm also going to give my body 6-8 months to heal before a second treatment as I want all of the dead fat cells to be cleared out of my body before another treatment. That way the Coolsculpting won't be freezing/killing fat cells that are already dead. In addition, inflammation does lead to scar tissue. More scar tissue may form if the inflammation doesn't heal, then you add more inflammation which can cause more scar tissue.
The 1 unanticipated result from Liposuction was 1 side of my upper abdomen formed scar tissue and is bigger than the other side because of this tissue. The larger part formed after the 1st Lipo procedure. I noticed that when lifting weights after 2 months this area kept getting slight inflammation/swelling off and on for the first 6 months. I also had this area Lipoed in the 2nd surgery to see if it was left-over fat. There was no difference after healing completed. I believe I would have to have a tummy-tuck to remove this tissue...so, it's staying.
I will update at a later time.
Cost $3800 for 8.
