Hi there! You definitely deserve this! Think of the amount of time you have spent taking care of your children and other people. Now it's time to be a bit selfish and do something for you. In the grand scheme of things, it's not much time that you're taking for yourself or that much money, really. At least in my opinion. You can always make money. So why not invest some of that money into you? I mean, your body is your vessel that carries you through life. You should look and feel your best while doing it! :)

I have had consultations and finally found the doctor for me. I'm super excited but also super nervous. It's nice to have other ladies doing the same thing that I can read about and talk to. I will upload a picture and I'm very self conscious about it but I want to see the before and after. Thanks everyone on here!

Super excited for you! Posting my "befores" was the hardest thing for me too. Way to be brave! I wanted to see my progress too and I also think it really helps the other women on here to see the changes and get up the courage to start their own journeys. I know that's what helped me!

I still avoid looking at my pics when I'm on here. It makes me cringe a little.

So I start the iron supplements tomorrow and of course the colace along with it to keep things moving. Lol
So what do y'all think about people knowing about the surgery? When I had my boobs done 16 years ago I never cared who knew and I am very proud of them. But for all this other work it seems like there is a negative stigma attached to it. So what do you say when people ask?

Interesting question. I’ve always felt that medical history (to include surgeries) is personal information, which is not really polite for people to ask about, imo. I’ve never actually had anybody asked me; however I have shared the information with a couple trusted friends. I suppose my response would depend on who’s asking me. If it was somebody I didn’t know very well I’d probably respond with a comment such as “geez what kind of question is that? (implying it’s not really polite to ask)... or politely let them know that my medical history is private and clearly off-topic.

It’s not that I’m personally embarrassed about my surgeries, but you are right there are certain stigma is attached to it; and for that reason I think one needs to be careful about who they tell, imo. One never knows how information can affect their future, including possible job opportunities. I was talking with one woman I know who had told her children about her BA; and the next thing she knew just about every single person on the block (including their children) seemed to know about her surgery. Now if it doesn’t really matter to someone who knows what... then of course that’s a whole different story. My 2 cents. :-)
