It’s been a long time since I have been on realself, but one of my goals through this process was to document my progress and to share my experience with others! This has been a great journey for me. I have spent the past 25 years of my life having, nursing and raising 7 children and I have a good 8 years still before I’m done raising my last. It is a life I love and I wouldn’t change any of it, but 7 children and years of nursing babies left my body with some things that were beyond my control to fix. And even though I would do it all again, inside still remained a woman that wanted to feel sexy and confident outside of being a mom. I wanted to feel confident about my body and to feel sexy and comfortable being naked with my husband and even more importantly with myself. I wanted to look in that mirror and see the woman I felt was in there hidden beneath the saggy skin and pitiful almost nonexistent boobs that remained ha! Ha! I had a breast augmentation two years ago 485 cc ultra high profile which my husband and I love :) and my tummy tuck was a year ago. Removing the extra skin has left me with the self confidence to strut my naked self around without reaching for the nearest towel. I’m so grateful that I did this for myself. So many people think of plastic surgery in a negative light. That it’s because people want others to look at them and for attention. For me it was a personal journey to regain my vision of how I saw myself. It was for no one other than for me! I love my new post baby body and I will be forever grateful for my wonderful surgeon who gave me back what I had lost.

I’ve been following you and your journey. You look amazing. I had mine done last Tuesday. It’s been rough. I’m getting down, trying to shake that off. I don’t have 7 lol, but do have 4 kids. I’ve ever felt this disable so it gets to me at times. I’m just trying to be patient. Thank you for all your posts. It’s helped.

Hang in there! I know it is hard and it feels endless. But I promise it will be so worth it !

It doesn’t look like you needed work in the first place. Did you get a mini or full tuck?
December 26, 2018
It was a full tummy tuck.

How long after the surgery did you start using your scar gel? Your result is amazing!! Did you use it as suggested? Once in the morning and once at night? Or were you slathering it on all day? I need your results lol. My doctor is suggesting the embrace scar therapy. Says it’s the best out there. I’m just trying to figure it out right now. Thank you for getting back to me btw....

So it’s been one month since my scar revision and all is well. The scar is beginning to fade and I’ve been messaging everyday to keep the scar tissue broke up. I still have some swelling off and on and the center line of my abdominal wall still hurts when I engage it in workouts, but I still do the exercises. I’m not sure if that will always be that way now or if it will go away over time but it’s not like I can’t live with it. Its like trying to work out a few days after you did an extensive abdominal workout and your muscles are still sore. Weird!!! Any way. All is well and I’m so happy I did this!

Sounds like a long journey for sure! I understand this now as I am 2 months post. Love the results however tend to nit pick every little thing that maybe I am making up in my mind I don't know. You have always looked great throughout your journey. I can relate to swelling as now that I am back to work and working out I am always swollen. I am either working 12 hour shifts as an ER nurse or working out so = always swollen :) Waiting for the magical 6 month mark. Curious if you belly button changed much throughout. I had an innie before and my doc said since I was so thin and no fat or extra tissue to replicate my original innie would be hard. I literally had no extra tissue for depth. its not an outie and not too much of an innie either so don't know if I am just still swollen there. I heard the button is the last to heal. So...much change to your button from surgical day to now?

So my belly button didn’t change at all, because mine was floated. This means that they didn’t detach and then reattach the belly button but it is just in a lower location because I didn’t have much skin to remove from above my belly button. That has been one of the things that I have questioned though. I think I may have been more pleased with the results if my upper abdomin if they would have moved the belly button and made the skin tighter above the belly button, but I do like that my belly button didn’t change and doesn’t look unnatural. I have debated back and forth about that time and time again, but I have confidence in my surgeon that he made the choice that was best for me.

Oh I get the floating belly button thing now. Never quite understood. I researched so damn much but not that. So the skin above the belly wasn't tightened at all? I guess how would it be if you can't get beyond the stalk. Well, you can't tell at all. So thats good. I had loose skin above the button as well so guess that wouldn't have been an option. In any event, I like my button compared to most but was just hoping for the deep innie I had. The most important things for me in order were, no infection, low scar, thin scar, straight pretty scar then last innie belly button. 4/5 not bad :) I am super thankful with my results. Am glad you are too. Thanks for the response :)

So they did detach th stalk and pulled the skin down , but there wasn’t enough up above my belly button to pull down too much. So my belly button is in a new location just a little farther down on my stomach. Any way. I am happy for you that you like your results and one thing I have learned through all of this is that the more the time goes by and the more time you get to heal, the happier you will be with your results. So if you’re happy now, you will be ecstatic 6 months from now

Oh okay now I gotcha. Wish I could have done that (kept
my button) Was able tho to have all my skin pulled down to my horizontal scar. Anyways, yes thats exactly what my surgeon said. "If you love it now, you'll love it in a year" :)

1 week post scar revision

Hotmama45
So 1 week ago today I went and had my revision on my scar and it was slick. I was there maybe a total in an hour and I’m already pleased with how much better it looks. I just took the steri strip off and will now start the scar treatment by am already pleased with how quickly it has started to heal and I’m sure it will blend right in with the other scar which is practically invisible. If you look at the photos my new scar is centered right in the morning sale of my tummy tuck scar and you can see that the old one is hardly noticeable. I hope the scar treatment will be as successful with this scar as it was the last. I’ll keep it updated on the progress.

So clearly I meant to type right in the middle of my tummy tuck scar! (NOT the morning sale!) But it won’t let me go in and fix the typing errors ha! Ha!
