Update and changes..
UPDATE/REDO:
So back in October I went to my first Derm appointment about my acne and marks, and she decided to put me on Tretinoin .05% and Clindamycin Lotion to help with these problems. I used Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser along with it. I used those things for about three months, and within that time my face was super dry and sensitive, and I couldn't really fall asleep at night because my face was so irritated. It did improve my acne significantly, but I was still getting some new acne pop up on my cheeks, so at my next appointment I explained these problems to my derm and she switched the tretinoin .05% to tarozac .05%, she said that the tazorac was stronger than tretinoin, and she kept everything else the same and also recommended that I use CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser to help with the dryness and irritation. The tarozac has not caused me any major dryness or irritation while using it, which is a huge plus.
So I started using these products, including the CeraVe, about three weeks ago and I really don't have any acne whatsoever on my face right now, and the scarring looks like it's disappearing slowly. So I'm pretty happy about that. Also I started taking a Birth Control three months ago too to help with the acne(Ortho Tri Cyclen)
Skin before acne medications:
Oily/Combination
Acne Prone
Skin now:
Dry/Combination
Sensitive
My routine is:
Morning:
Wash with CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
Apply dime size about of Clindamycin Lotion all over my face
Apply Equate Sunscreen Moisturizer SPF 15
Night:
Wash with CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
Apply pea size amount of Tarozac to mostly acne and marks and spread whatever is left on my fingers to the rest of my face.
I'm going to post some pictures along with this to show you my progress, and sorry about the different qualities and lighting in these photos, but you can still tell the differences between them.
If you have any questions just comment!

Okay, so I started getting acne around 13yo. It...
Okay, so I started getting acne around 13yo. It was a pimple here and there, and it really didn't bother me. Well, a few months before my 15th b-day my acne slowly started getting worse, and I started getting redness around my nose. I tried multiple brands within that time and none helped at all, ex. Clearasil, Mary Kay, tons of other drugstore brands..etc. Fast-forward to these past few weeks, I went to the Derm. and she prescribed me .05% Tretinoin Cream, and Clindamycin Phosphate Lotion, along with a corticosteroid for the redness around my nose which didn't help at all for that.
Anyway, it'll be 3 weeks tomorrow since I started these medications, and I can say it has helped some with my acne. My forehead is about 70-80% cleared up already. My cheeks have improved some, about 30-40%. Finally, my nose used to get whitehead and bumps all around the creases, and those are all gone now(but the redness remains.) Now it's not exactly where I would like it, but it's only been three weeks, and the Derm. and the packaging to the meds say it can take up to 4-6 months for great results. So I'm gonna keep it up, and update along the way to show the progress.
Daily Routine-
Morning:
Wash face with CETAPHIL GENTLE SKIN CLEANSER.
~wait 5-10 minutes~
Apply thin layer of CLINDAMYCIN LOTION all over face.
Night:
Wash Face with CETAPHIL GENTLE SKIN CLEANSER.
~Wait 15-30 minutes for face to dry~*very important step.
Apply one pea-two pea size of TRETINOIN CREAM all over face(avoiding eye and corner of mouth areas).
(I use LOREAL GO360CLEAN DEEP EXFOLIATING SCRUB twice weekly in place of the Cetaphil to remove dead/dry skin, which I will explain why now.)
So, the Tretinoin Cream makes my face red, tight, dry and flaky. Which is painful(3-4/10) sometimes, so I'm thinking about adding a moisturizer into my routine(which I didn't know I needed to use until now) and I'm hoping it can help with the side effects. I'm gonna be using the MARY KAY CLEARPROOF OIL-FREE MOISTURIZER. (You're supposed to apply moisturizer/cream at least 30 min-1 hour after application of Tretinoin Cream because it works better when it is the only thing on your skin.)
My next Derm. appointment is in the middle of this month, so I'll update about that too if anything changes.
