7 wks po Loving my results!
naknaksnewtummyMay 23, 2014
WORTH IT$7,500
I had my 7 wk po check up with Dr. Schaffer this week and he was very pleased with my recovery and so am I. Yes there have been some highs and lows but I have to say the lows were never as bad as I had imagined it would be. As stated before, I highly recommend the Exparel meds. I am so excited to be 10 lbs lighter and able to wear clothes that I could not wear before. I am ready to go bikini shopping for the first time and many years! He said I no longer have to wear compression unless it just makes me feel more comfortable so today I am compression free! I am still using the Scar Away Silicone Sheeting on my scar and it seems to be working well. At this point, I seem to be back to normal - time to start the exercises and work on these thighs and back side :-) I will try to get around to posting an updated photo soon.

33 Days Post Op
naknaksnewtummyMay 4, 2014
At 33 days post op, I have finally removed all of the surgical tape and started using the Scar Away Silicone Scar Sheeting for scar treatment. I'm looking forward to seeing how well the Silicone treatment will help with the scarring. I still have swelling, the left side always appears to be more so. However, even with the swelling I am seeing a 9 lb loss at this point, which I am thrilled with, and looking forward to continued progress.

Looking wonderful! I hope I look as good as you do at 33 days po. My doctor said I can start lymphatic massages but I am scared of the pain. If it hurts when my hubby rubs oil on me I can't imagine how painful it will be to have a full massage! Happy healing

Thank you - you are looking great too! I started Endermology instead of the massages at 4 weeks post op. It also helps with the fluid removal but I'm not so sure I could have done so at 2 wks. Did you have any Lipo? I only had it to my Flanks per the doctor recommendation. I don't regret it for one minute and would do it all over again...now it is just all about healing and patience for the final result!

You look amazing! What silicone treatment are you using? And do you think I should get endermology/massage bein I didn't have lipo?

I am using the Scar Away Silicone Sheeting. I got mine from Amazon in the 1 1/2 " x 7 " strips. I noticed Walmart had them just not sure if the had the 7" strips. I like the Endermologie and I am even considering doing the 15 treatment package to incorporate from bra line to knees in order to work on my thighs. If I do that then I need to accept that I would probably need to do 1 treatment per month to maintain the best results. Still thinking on that one. Personally I think it has also softened some of the ab tissue that was hard but I would suggest you call and ask if the Dr recommends you have it. I was thinking I should do the Lymphatic massages but he recommended the Endermologie. For you, without the lipo, the Lymphatic massages may be best but I would call and ask. I called, they pulled my file, talked to the nurse/doctor and told me what was recommended and that is what I scheduled.

First Endermologie Session at 30 days po
naknaksnewtummyMay 1, 2014
I am 30 days post op and feeling better every day. Yesterday I had my first Endermologie session and I can already tell a difference. It did not hurt. I am a little sore on the left side but that is the side that is the most swollen. I was on my feet on the move all day yesterday after the session and by 6 pm I was swollen and pretty uncomfortable on the left side. I took some Tylenol and got off of my feet in the recliner and quickly began to feel better. Where I was seeing some wavy looking areas and feeling some hard spots from the lipo, I can already see and feel a difference. I will be having this done weekly for 4 weeks. It is supposed to smooth scar tissue, help with the lymphatic system to improve circulation to reduce swelling and help remove the fluid from the body. I slept like a baby last night! Overall, I am standing straight, having less and less discomfort unless I overdo it. I wear Spanx or some form of compression all of the time other than shower time. I am trying to watch my sodium - and finding it is high in everything! I am trying to focus on getting in plenty of lean protein - I drink a protein smoothie every morning as well as trying to find other ways of getting my protein. The protein helps in healing and building the muscle. I am happy to be back in some of my clothes instead of baggy sweats all of the time. All of my surgical tape has not come off just yet. Although I have the Scar Away silicone strips to use on my scar, I felt like the surgical tape probably had its own healing qualities so I decided I would cut the loose tape as it loosened but not actually pull it off. I told the lady doing my Endermologie this yesterday and she said I was doing as I should so that made me feel better. I guess I have been lucky regarding the emotional/hormonal side of this being that I have not had any crying or stressed out days. However, I do get really tired if I push too hard and I am still trying to be careful in how I use the muscles. My body has reminded me on several occasions - just because you feel good doesn't mean you are completely healed - slow down and stop trying to do things you know you shouldn't!

Awe thanks!! I am very please with my results. I think Dr. Shaffer did a great job. I'm pretty much back to normal now. It has not been near as bad as I was afraid. I did have the Exparel and would highly recommend it.

You look amazing. How tall are you? And are you wearing spanx or binder in the last picture?
