Flat Side- Black, blue - and fever.

I'm on the flat side and I will post some photo's soon. I'm 4 days post op and my doctor has me on a blood thinner injection. Lovenox. I have excessive bruising on the right side and I called my ps today to see if this bruising was with in normal limits and he had me come in right away.
He did not do any lipo in that area that I'm aware of and Initially everything looked really good despite some dark bruising on the right side. I really feel like I should have stayed in hospital for one more night because I had a fever of 100.5 and it was difficult to get my pain levels under control.
I was not aware ahead of time that I'd be sent home with lovenox. Today was day 3 of me giving the injection myself but I did also have one that the nurse performed before I was released.
I have been doing everything my surgeon has instructed. I have 2 drains that are mildly uncomfortable especially the left side. That one was not producing anything until yesterday during a sponge bath I was feeling around trying to figure out if the tube was wrapped around hair or something because it really hurt. I noticed that it looked like a blood clot was at the very start of where the tube came out of my groin area and so I stripped the tubing and ever since then, it;s been producing measurable fluid in the drain. I am really concerned. My doctor looked at it today and said he believes it's fine and likely cue to the blood thinner but he did not want to risk me getting a blood clot and I am scheduled to go in next week on Tuesday but my doctor will not be in town and so I will see his associate.
I have ice on it right now but the skin is so tight - it looks like my skin could split wide open.
I haven't seen any photos that look like what is going on with me and I wonder if anyone could share their thoughts or experience. I submitted a question here for a doctor to review but no answer as of yet. I'm still running a light fever- ranging from 99.3 to 100.5. Dr.'s office said if it goes up to 101.5 to call immediately. I'm feeling kind of frantic and hoping it's just the visual is more scary than the actual situation. Non smoker here, no history of diabetes. I did have serious leg and hip injury on the right side in November and it;s cause significant sensation loss and hindered ability in walking. The left and hip both feel very fine presently.

Surgery In the Morning

Well, tomorrow is the big day. I still have not figured out how to use those cool apps for posting pics. Was hoping someone here might tell me how to do that. But no worries, I will have plenty of time when I get home to figure it out. Hope everyone is doing well. Today went by in a blur. I'm happy to say that my fever went down over Saturday and did not return. No congestion, coughing nor sneezing. Eyes are a little itchy but I did not take anything for my symptoms and I believe they are probably seasonal allergy related. I've got my bag packed light. I did my clear liquid diet today. I have all of my paperwork, id, and insurance card with my bag. I have a huge basket of items for my caregiver to sort through when I come home. I am not taking much with me to the hospital. Just change of clothes- pajamas- both sets button up and are loose- some lip balm and hand lotion- warm socks. I don't live far from the hospital so Hubby could run home if there is anything extra I need but I'm only planning on staying overnight- so I don't think I will need much. Well- Good luck to all the TT'ers going in this week and those healing up. Will see you next time hopefully on the flat side.

Count Down 3, 2, 1

I'm scheduled for sx on Tuesday. I spent the weekend reading through as many of the supplies lists I could read and got most of the basics. Wound cleaning essentials, bandaids, tape, gauze, sugar free mints, lip balm, lotion, vaseline, MOM, hibiclens. I still need to pack a small bag. I'm thinking of just packing a light pajama set and jogging pants with zip jacket. Yesterday I woke up feeling a little congested - like allergy related. I called the ps office to inform them and to ask if there was anything I could or should take and specifics of what not to take. I was told I could take benadryl or mucinex but nothing like advil or ibuprofen. None of that sort of thing. I haven't taken anything yet but it was nice to know that I could take something if needed. I made sure I picked up a thermometer when I was out getting supplies. I do have a low grade fever. It's been about 99.3 and has come down several times. I'm just watching it. I am a little concerned that I could be coming down with something but- so far no cough, no chest congestion. There was just a little nasal congestion in the left nostril and kind of headache, stuffy ears and tiny throat irritation. I slept all day yesterday on the couch and today felt a little better. Sure hope I'm on the upswing. It would really cause a conflict to reschedule surgery because Hubby already has taken time off from work and I've made arrangements for our youngest and everything has been set- of course if I am sick- have some sort of infection or illness that would make surgery risky then- I certainly will have to find a way to reschedule everything but right now, I'm hoping that it's just allergies and I have 2 days and a wake up to feel better. I have to figure out how everyone is taking photos here. My first photo- I took with my phone and it's not good quality. I've seen some very good quality photos on here with apps. If any of you could tell me how to find the apps and tips for posting pics. I will get some up pre op. I am off to read more of your RS updates. Hope you are all doing well. TTYL :)
