Better Every Day

WORTH IT$18,500
I am approaching closure on my wound separation, down the size of a dime. I think I may be done packing this opening in a few days. Today I am actually going to try driving my truck, something I haven't been comfortable doing since the surgery. Just too stiff in the suspension to be comfortable, but my washing machine died and a girl has to have clean clothes. I've actually started to consider that I might do another surgery in the future. Either my face or arms/boobs. Probably never going to be willing to endure the leg surgery.

Wound Separation

So my sacrum area separated at about 15 days post op, eventually it opened to 2 inches long, completely open to the muscle, at 7+ weeks that is still healing. The muscle is no longer exposed and the edges of the wound are slowly closing but this has been a long tough haul. Thankfully this is mostly tucked into my butt crack so the end scarring won't be very visible. Of course that area is still very swollen, I swear my skin is so thick and hard it feels like elephant hide. It is hard to say how much butt or crack truly exist until the swelling goes down. My best news besides I am starting to feel like myself again is that my belly button is coming back in line, for weeks it has been off center by about 1 and 1/2 inches. I am still on the fence as to whether I will ever do another body surgery. As much as I would like to have breast augmentation and eliminate the excess skin on my arms I just don't know if I want to go back through this nightmare, live with the scars and pay the bills. Time will tell.

Returning to Work

I start back to work full time in the morning. Having worked some hours last week, I am cringing inside about this. I had 4 full days off this weekend and they went fast. I don't know that I am looking forward to this, but it is part of the return to normal life. I've picked out several outfits that disguise the chubby in the middle look, and hopeful also disguise the fact I still find it hard to stand up straight. Last night I felt pulling in my mid-section down into my thighs, all of those muscles were just bunching and balling up. In any case, forward I go.

I hope it's going well at work. Dory you had to return so soon. ;( I guess you can just rest as much as possible once you get home. Good luck!
