WORTH IT
9 months since surgery.
Hair is finally growing and I love my new forehead. Hair is definitely shorter than I would like and it's been a long process but I'm happy I did it.
Thanks for all the support!

Your hair looks great, it looks the same quality as the hair that didn't fall out. Nobody will be able to tell that you have had problems with hair loss. The scar looks great too, seems invisible. Happy for you!
Thank you
Take msm girl
What a wonderful day, when you can finally change your status on here to "WORTH IT!" Congrats! XO
Thank you! Its definitely nice to finally be to this point.
Looks great!! No one would ever be able to tell! I’m not at that point yet but hopefully in the next 3 months since I’m also 9 months post op
Thank you. Yes hopefully so! It's such a hard process to go through. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy the results soon.
Kk318104 what doctor did u use and how is your hair doing now? I read months ago on ur previous comment ur scar wasn't healing well and u may need transplants
Dr. Kornstein in CT and NYC. My hair is very slowly growing back. I had the same amount of hair loss as in these pictures. The scar isn’t great but not horribly noticeable as well. Now I’m thinking of not getting hair transplants because I can’t go through shock loss again. It was too traumatic. Long term it would be best for me to get hair transplants but I can’t handle losing my hair again.
Hi - Can you tell me more about your experience? I’ve lost slot of hair. Has your hair grown back?
I had the surgery and everything seemed great (end of July). Within a week my hair started to fall out and fell out rapidly over the next month and stopped. However a month after that (mid-Sept) I noticed 2 more bald spots on my crown. The hair started growing around November but was very thin. Right now my hair is about the length of bangs and getting thicker but still thin. My scar is still noticeable (and always with be if left alone) and there is a deep recession along the middle of the scar and the sides. My plastic surgeon recommended I get fat grafting done along the scar and 6 months to a year later I do a scar revision. Not sure what I'm going to do. It doesn't look great right now but I don't want to go through the trauma again if things get worse before better.
Oh gosh, that is absolutely traumatic. I really hope your hair continues to get thicker. I don’t blame you for considering to just leave it the way it is. The process is such a hard one and you’re right the shock loss is incredibly traumatic. I’m horribly depressed and beyond anxious. It’s impacting every area of my life. Being so anxious is draining my energy and making me so irritable - not a good combination or a mom of a one year old. I absolutely hated my forehead so if I can make it through this it will be worth it but I’ve definitely second guessed myself a million times. Talking to others on this forum has been helpful. It’s nice that we can all support each other.
I hope it gets better for you! Hopefully your child can be your motivation to be strong. Next week will be the one year mark for me. I feel like no one truly understands how difficult the process is. Every part of my life was affected - even leaving the house was hard. I went to a therapist a few times because of the depression and anxiety but the therapist didn't seem to understand. ("It's just hair so why can't you go grocery shopping and why?)
It’s brutally hard and you’re right, nobody understands. The difficulty is exasperated by the fact that we’re terrified when the hair is falling out that it’s permanent. My anxiety level about it being permanent is through the roof, which is probably not helpful for my hair either. I’m sure you had high hopes for a good result (obviously) and for the scar to not look good makes the situation even harder for you. I’m only 5 weeks post op but I’m already worried about my scar. I dont know about you but I even feel embarrassed to tell my fiends and family about it. I did the surgery without telling anyone but was excited to share once it was done and looked good - well, I cant tell anyone because it looks terrible! If it turned out as planned I’d tell everyone what i did. I’ve turned down so many social things because of it. What did your surgeon say about your scar no looking good? Was it his or her doing or just the way your body healed? Was your doctor supportive during the hair loss process? My doctor is meeting with me weekly but it’s frustrating because he’s helpless - he can’t stop the hair loss even if he wanted to. It’s still a relief to meet with him weekly because it’s someone to talk about this with. I just have to let it in its course i iwas and pray it stops. Honestly, i think my stress level will make it fall out at this point. One more Q. - Does your doctor think your hair will come back with the same density?
The doctor doesn’t say why it happened. He wants me to meet with a top dermatologist but the dermatologist is booked out over a year from now and I haven’t been able to even schedule an appointment yet. He thinks the hair density eventually be back to normal.
Whos the derm he wants you i see? I’ve been private messaging with a woman who has permanent hair loss. I’m feeling terrified right now.
well done! you’ve been so brave and it’s all been totally worth it! ❤️
Thank you! Been a long process but yes :-)

Wow!
What a Christmas gift inches of hair!
Yes it sure is a long process getting hair but glad to see its growing.
Wow, are you doing differently now?
Just taking my vitamins and giving it time. It had to go through resting phase so the very front is growing in quicker because I lost that hair first.
so happy for you!
Thank you
I'm so pleased its come back. I hope you're feeling better about the surgery and more confident in yourself. Im sure you could pull off a short pixie cut now with some funky hair bands x
