I'm due to go in for my TT with liposuction of the flanks on Friday morning. Feeling very excited but also very nervous.
I should have done this ages ago I can't wait to be slim again. I'm 56 years old and hate being big around the middle. I've always been slim until I hit 50. I don't mind the extra weight everywhere else so will be good when the lump around my middle has gone.
I chose my hospital and surgeon because I've used the hospital before for other needed operations. Even the staff use the surgeon I've chosen. He is just so lovely and I feel completely at ease with him. I trust him completely. You can't get better recommendations than from staff at the hospital he works at.
I've added some before photos and will add some after photos when I'm up to it after it's all been done.

So pleased for you that it is over with, as far as the surgery part. Now all you have to do it heal. Please rest as much as possible, it is very important. As long as you get up and walk a little, like to the restroom. Pillows were my best friend for several weeks, you can put them all over to get compfy. I look forward to seeing how it came out when your up to it. Take care for now.

We'll I've had it done and I must say that the moment it doesn't look like it's been done at all. Everywhere is swollen and I mean everywhere. Today is Sunday and I should have gone home but my oxygen levels were low so they've kept me in. It has been really painful but once you get on top of the pain with the right meds it's not so bad. All the staff at the hospital can't do enough for me they are truly lovely as is my surgeon. I will get some after pics on here when I get the chance. BFN fellow TTs

I do hope so it's a very big thing to go through and not to be happy with the results. I can't wait to feel better (with no pain) and for the swelling to go down si I can see the slimmer and flat me. x

Hi again, it's understandable your feeling sore and a little down ,but don't worry it's a major op to go through and a huge emotional journey. Sounds like you have a really good supportive medical team around you and the will make you well and everything will work out fine . When you read the other ladies' reviews ,some appear to struggle a little at first then all becomes well. Take the rest your body is asking for and I'm sure things will be better tomorrow.

My medical team have been amazing I have nothing but admiration for them all they couldn't do enough for me. I try to rest and move as much as possible and try to get a nap in during the afternoon if I can.

Fortunately I've not really had any down days yet. The tummy and lipo pain is bareable for me. How long does it take to start noticing the results?

They let me home yesterday. It's very hard to do stuff like mostly getting in and out of bed. I have fallen back a couple of times and that really kills when it pulls on your tummy.
All the staff at the hospital were great. When my surgeon couldn't get in to check on me my anesthetist came to check on me to see that everything was as it should be. My surgeon did call the hospital a few times to check on me as we'll. They are both truly wonderful. I did have a couple of complications. My lungs wouldn't inflate fully so had to have physio for that and my white blood cell count was not as it should have been so more pills in case of infection.
All in all though not feeling too bad. I do have somp pain from the lipo just feeling a little brused and the obvious pain from tummy mussels.
I haven't been able to see much yet but from what I have seen the main scar looks very neat and my belly button I think looks like a very cute little inny. I'm 57 and I've never had an inny belly button before so can't wait to show it off on my next holiday.
I promise I will put some after pictures on once I've had some taken. Take care all my fellow TTs

Your pics look great and your tummy looks flat, mine is still very round. Poor you tho with all that bruising I have hardly any. Not much chance of me over doing it my family won't let me and I'm quite a lazy person.

Yes, my tummy has been flat since post op day one. I do have just a slight amount of swelling still but I'm certainly not as "swollen" as BEFORE the surgery. I had a lot of liposuctioning done which accounts for all the bruising. I was taking an injectable blood thinner for five days post op and I think that, and wearing the CG a little bit too tight might have contributed to the bruising. And who knows how they handled me while under anaesthesia......they might have been flipping me over agressively on the the operating table so that I was bouncing around from side to front to side etc.... LOL I had some increased pain yesterday, went to see the surgeon about it and he blamed the pain on a tight internal stitch and said it will go away eventually. The surgeon also aspirated about an ounce of serous fluid from a slightly swollen area below my BB. Overalll I'm very happy with my results. It's been 15 days and I'm actually going to work for a few hours today.

I had quite a lot of lipo I think. The PS did say he got more than he thought he would lol. I also had blood thinning injections whilst I was in hospital (4 days). All I want is for the lipo pain to go (cos it is painful where that was done) and a flat tummy. Happy healing my friend. xx

I'm now day 17 post op and I still have a very tender midriff where some liposuctioning was done. I had lipo to my flanks as well and I'm still feeling pretty tender there too. Still numb between my BB and my crotch but I think that's normal. I was able to move around in bed from day one although I can't admit to that being easy. The first night home I had to get up to the bathroom about 15 times and believe me it was a struggle to get in and out of bed. I didn't want to wake my hubby up to help me and figured that I HAVE to do this myself!!! Did you have your abs. tightened??? Often the muscle tightening accounts for much of the pain. My abs feel very tight like I've got a rod of rebar there.... But hey, it's all part of the journey. I'm just glad I'm done and almost back to feeling completely normal again.

Yes I did get my Abs tightened and they are very tender. I just had a little coughing fit and that hurt my abs like hell with every cough. I also had lipo to my flanks. It's very tender where the needle went in and all the way up the sides to where he finished. But despite everything on the whole for just a week later the pain which is more discomfort isn't too bad really.

Yup, coughing, sneezing and laughing hurts like hell but give it another week and you'll be noticing a big difference and will actually be able to ENJOY laughing again!!! Time flies, and before you know it you'll be doing 50 sit ups without pain!!!
October 2, 2013
Congratulations on your TT! I'm 57 too & I'm having a TT with lipo on Monday. (10-7) You're never too old to look good! I hope you have an "uneventful" recovery!! Good luck!

Wishing you the best for your TT. It's not too bad really, mine only really hurts when I get up from a sitting position. Good luck.
October 4, 2013
Thank you! Stairs, toilets, car rides, sitting/getting back up....just a few of the things I'm worried about!
October 3, 2013
Hi lorraineellen, how are you ? Hoping your recovery is going well.best wishes to you.

I'm not too bad thanks. It mostly only hurts when I get up after sitting for a while. I do get up and walk around as much as I can. Getting out of bed in the mornings is the hardest thing to do. The lipo areas feel very brused most of the time but I can handle that. I hope you're feeling ok
