Two years post surgery and malar fat pads no longer visible

One Year Later

A quick update to show the results of my lower bleph exactly one year on. No regrets whatsoever! My eyes still sometimes feel a little tight/uncomfortable the day after eating salty food or indulging in a couple more glasses of wine than usual... I still have the malar fat pads - again more/less noticeable depending on lifestyle (it's least noticeable on gym days)! You can't really see them in this photo but here I am relaxed and on holiday (I wonder whether the strobe lighting in my office at work plays a part? My eyes are certainly always bloodshot after a day in the office under the strobe lighting and staring into the pc screen)

I'm now considering a facelift and have started doing my reading. I think it's more a question of when rather than 'if'. I'm still only 46 so maybe a little too soon but I'm told the earlier you have it, the longer it lasts. I'm also told that a facelift will mostly rectify the malar fat pad issue. Double whammy! We will see...

Malar Fat Pads

So it's not good news. I saw my PS yesterday and it seems my remaining pockets of fat are malar fat pads and cannot be removed, they can only be disguised. My PS is arranging for me to see two other surgeons with him, for further opinions/advice. The options are fillers to disguise (I'm not keen), a facelift (also not keen - there is very little there to lift) and/or some more skin tightening under the eyes (at the same time he/they would tidy up my scar on my right outer corner which is puckered). I will update my review after I've seen them. Left feeling quite deflated...
