Its been almost 3 years since my chin implant removal
hi everyone,
Its been alm?st 3 years since my chin implant removal. My chin still didn't return to its pre-operation shape and I don't think it will return ever. I didn't do anything to my chin for 3 years no fillers etc. My chin is still wider and longer a bit like a witches chin. When I touch that operated area in my chin I feel the internal scar tissue, its firmer than the rest of the tissues in my chin and face. So I think after the removal of my chin implant the area where the implant was, the left capsule of whatever it filled with scar tissue because what I have is my ex chin implanted shaped scar tissue I guess. Because even in the areas were used to be winges of the implant, there is scar tissue. So even though I got rid of the implant I still have the scar tissue shaped as the implant like its shadow!. I mean I don't make it a big deal and I got used to my face over the years but of course, there are times I wish there is a way to return fully back. It's funny how my implant only stayed inside my chin for 2 days and still it was enough to make these permanent changes in my chin and face shape. Sadly my used to be v shape face didn't return to how it was even after the removal and its still square looking. I think the problem is the scar tissue that formed inside and filled that area and due to that the sagging of the chin pad. So I started to think is there a way where you can take off that internal scar tissue in your chin ? or excess soft tissue I don't know what its called. Because I know my chin bone is just fine and I don't need any burying of my chin etc. What I want to get rid of is the excess internal scar tissue that was formed after the chin implant removal. But even with the insertion of the chin implant and removal I know how the muscles in the chin were damaged and I wasn't able to smile even for months and my smile and mouth was crooked etc. and at that time there was no tissue removal it was just cut and sued back. I watch these surgeries videos sometimes and what I understand is it is almost impossible to see the difference between a muscle and a soft tissue. It is all looking the same in there. So even though there is a surgery that makes it possible to remove the excess tissue or scar tissue in your chin, how do they be sure that they don't remove the muscles too and make your face paralyze or crooked? I have also heard that steroid shots that are? done to internal scar tissue but also heard that these shots make dents in the skin and make skin color change etc. So I am not quite sure what can be done to reduce this excess scar tissue that makes my chin look like a witch. If anyone has any experience in that regard please inform me. Thank you

Hi, I am thinking of removing my chin implant , but I am affraid that I will look worse then now. I had surgery 5 years ago, so it’s been a long time. In my opinion after surgery my face got more angular. It’s worse then it was. I think the implant is too big. I would like to do something but I’m afraid that if I remove it it will be even worse. I don’t know if it’s worth it. Meybe it’s better to change to a smaller one.
Why did either of you remove them out of curiosity? I've got a very weak jawline and have actually been considering the implant
I think you look great in all your pics.. Yu are very very pretty ! Isn’t it crazy how we see flaws in ourselves ? But honestly wen I look at you I see a chin that suits u, gray cheekbones.. a lovely smile and your forehead and entire face is proportionate and looks overall pretty and perfect :)
I meant Great cheekbones , sorry !!
I think your chin looks fine now. I understand, however, that it is hard to look at oneself objectively, but your chin looks great! Don't stress!
I'm also thinking of removing my chin implant. It's been 2 weeks for me. I go see my doctor next week. My face is know long. I've read your entire story. I feel your pain. I'm so scared it won't go back to what I think was normal now.

2 years after chin implant removal
Hi everyone,
I havent been able to update my feed for a while. Now that i logged into my rs account and seen some new pm in my inbox i wanted make an update about my final statues regarding my chin implant removal.
I will also update some recent pictures cuz i know one picture worth 1000 words in situations like this.
Its been 2 years now that i removed my chin implant after only 2 days of insertation. I wrote my experince very detailed on my past writings.
My chin is not as same my old chin. It is a bit wider (used to have more v shape) and a bit longer and a bit flatter. So over all my face shape was more v looking and thight compared to now. I dont know if its sagging or internal scar tissue etc. But the motion of my mouth is %100 back to normal, no problem with my smile the way i talk, nothing is crooked or paralized. No dimples in my chin, i feel my chin i have full sensation.
Eventhought i regret having the chin implant at all but i am so glad i got it removed as quikly as possible. Because i know chin implant was never suitable for me.
I dont obsses about my chin anymore and overall i dont obsess about my looks anymore. I bleave This bad experince with plastic surgery make me a more mature person and make me obsess less about looks. Back at the time it was not i wanted but definetly what i needed, to not to obsses about my looks.
So i upload some pics and you can see it yourself. At the end of the day i can live with the difference with my chin and i will absoloutly not do anything to fix it because i know it will only harm more.
I think internal scar tissue will somehow melt with time more and more because even though its been such a long time since the removal i still notice some minor changes in my chin.
In this journey i talked with many people and some said their chin back to normal %100 after the implant removal and some say theirs did not. So i think the process is diffirent for every person.
Wishing the best for all,

You are so so lucky " But the motion of my mouth is %100 back to normal, no problem with my smile the way i talk, nothing is crooked or paralized. No dimples in my chin, i feel my chin i have full sensation"
I am suffering a lot with trouble talking and pain in chin and lips. I don't even care about looks at all right now, its not worth constant pain!!!

Hello there, are you better now? Is it because of a chin implant removal?
I have jaw implants scheduled to be removed on August 22nd. I have had them in for many years. I am scared about the unpredictable outcome of removal but I know I have to get them taken out. It's now or never. I just hope my jaw will look the same as it used to look.
Can you post pictures of the scar under your chin? And when smiling? Or PM me? I'm going through same thing. Has a chin implant removed after being in only a week. Was a huge mistake and I HATE my chin now. The crease underneath is so bad it makes it look like I have a double chin. I'm so self-conscious to smile. I'm at about a year post op and felt I'll be like this forever. But your 2 year pictures are beautiful. And give me hope. Did you see much improvement in that 2nd year? Can swelling really still go down?
Of course i am gonna post right now check my review
Why did you have it removed? It’s strange to me that you are complaining about a saggy wide chin. What did you expect after placing a foreign object into your face and then taking it out? Also your chin looks fine almost underdeveloped which would explain a desire for a chin implant in the first place. Just like breast, you stuff something in there and then take it out you will sag? I don’t understand your complaint. The acne could be reaction to surgical scrub such as betadine prior to making incisions.
I had a chin implant in for 2.5 years and had it removed. There was no sagging. I don't understand how their could be sagging after only having it in for 2 days. Maybe the pocket that was created changed the shape. I also just had my jaw implants removed. I had those in since 2015. There doesnt seem to be any sagging. I'm still swollen but my whole face looks more youthful and lifted. The jaw implants gave my face a bottom heavy look and aged me considerably. I look natural again. I'm happy about that. Plastic surgery was the worst thing that happened to me.

I'm quite worried about this because my lower face dimensions are small and the implant the doctor used was big (8mm, 4mm wings) and so it has stretched the chin pad so dramatically changing it's shape even in the short time. This has left me so far with zigzig intentations around my submental crease (where the stiches are) (some going down like 3-4mm...) and it looks real bad.
I would say in your case you look really good now, there is no real noticeable sag and at lease there are no bumps and its smooth across ur chin contour. The differences are still very slightly noticeable but you look good and normal.
Thank you,
I just had my implant removed and yea it has not returned to the pre-op state after 2 months now. It still feels super squishy and just not adhering to the skin.
In your year by year update you said it was squishy for months too but then in your 2 year update you said that the internal scar tissue is firm to touch. Does this mean that the chin pad is no longer squish and has adhered back to the skin after those 2 years?
Thanks...hopefully u check this and let me know
