So, a breast reduction was always something I wanted, the unwanted attention from such a young age made me very self conscious. At 16 I remember telling my mum how I wanted one and got a good telling off. She told me "they're what nature has given you so leave alone" my mum is a lovely size B by the way, I was a C At the age of 11. By 16 I wore a G cup bra and was a 32jj until last week :)
The final decision was made after my neck, shoulder and back pain was getting worse. Meaning frequent visits to an osteopath which doesn't come cheap!!
I'm nearly one week down the line, swelling and some pain to be honest, the worst thing for me is having to sleep on my back as I'm a side sleeper oh and the no shower rule stinks too ( literally).
I'm not sure what size I will finally be once everything settles, my surgeon and I discussed a D but time will tell :)
My surgeon has been fantastic and I would highly recommend him. I did MASSES of research prior to booking mine so I knew I was in safe hands with him and the anaesthetist, these get looked over a lot but at the end of the day these are the people that keep us alive throughout the surgery!!
Drain removal was not an issue at all, didn't hurt. Just can't wait for the swelling to go and the pain to ease so I can get about and sleep better. If any of you ladies are suffering but are indecisive about the surgery - go for it, you won't look back!! My neck felt different IMMEDIATELY, my back is still aches but again I believe that to be due to the sleeping position. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask, I have found this site so invaluable in my months leading up to surgery.

Follow up appt went well although I have a wound infection so commenced antibiotics. Consultant said it will set me back a bit :( still sore, tight and throbbing but I guess this is due to infection. Really hope it heals without any further issues. Still not sleeping and the no showering is awful. Ad couple of days really.

You look like ur healing well. I am on antibiotics now as a preventive measure. Surprised they didn't do that with you. If that's ur only issue, praise God! I think we look similar size post op. What are u wearing for support?

Hi, sorry to hear you've been having such a tough time! I've been wearing firm support bras from m&s and support bra from sainsburys, alternating between both depending on how much support I need and pain. What about you?

I've got a Royce front open and alternate with shock absorber front open. My ps said I can wear nothing but no one else on here had that advice so I didn't listen. Might see what M&S have. Happy healing x

Hope the infection sorts out, why can't you sleep? Are you doing 5 pillows, 2 for head and shoulders, one either side for arms and one under knees - bliss!

Thanks, I'm struggling as I'm not a back sleeper at all so find I'm aching a lot, dose off then inadvertently turn on to my side then wake with a kilt cause of pain. I'm currently using a v-pillow but will try your 5 pillow suggestion, many thanks. :)

Feels less tight today and hubby thinks the infected booby looks less red. Took bra off for a couple of minutes to wash and boy I couldn't wait to get it back on - throbbing!!! Yesterday did motive some spots of blood coming through new tape in exactly same place on both boobs, has any one else had this? Wondering if I've damaged it by pulling or lifting. I'm feeling brighter though so today gets a thumbs up.

I know and I'm trying to not do anything but I have a four yr old and two yr old at home. My husband has been great but I'm feeling he's losing patience with me a little now ( as am I) I haven't done any stupid heavy lifting but have been trying to keep up with the washing and cooking etc.

loading a washing machine and hanging out laundry were 2 things i did not do for quite a while.

It just takes time to get to the point of comfortable sleeping. As I healed things got easier. Hang on and everything will turn around for you.
You will notice improvements over the next several weeks. This is such a life changing event.
