Overseas Experience - Worth It for Saddlebags

To start, I live overseas in a country that would never be deemed a "medical tourism" hub. That said, medical care is generally good, but for me language remains a barrier in finding reputable providers and services on par with my expectations of U.S. care.

Still, I am very happy with my first experience with Ultrasonic Cavitation on my hips/saddle bags. I will do at least two more treatments. I wanted to provide insight on my experience thus far as I didn't find many details or reviews on this procedure especially for saddlebags, or fat pockets on the hips. There were a few surprises for me along the way as well; things that I hadn't found anyone else detail.

About me: 42 years old, fit, two kids. Slim build, regular exercise. But, I could never lose my prominent saddle bags. I know it's genetic - thanks mom! So I started looking for treatments. I talked to a provider about Coolsculpting but the number of sessions necessary to achieve results saw the final cost near liposuction prices. And I was worried about the results. My botox provider suggested I try cavitation at her clinic, surprise surprise. The cost was low - less than $100 USD - so I had nothing to lose except the fat, as they say!

The procedure was very comfortable and generally painless. They did three "rounds" on each side, with different wands (I don't know what to call the machine heads). It was actually very comfortable and felt like a deep tissue , heated massage. Only about 30-40 minutes total. However, then they put a clay mask on each side which started to heat up and eventually felt like it was burning! I was very anxious at this point, kind of freaking out, but they assured me that the "heat, hot" was normal. (My god what did I get myself into this time.) The mask was on my hips for about 20 painful minutes. As soon as they took it off, the pain subsided quickly.

Afterwards, there was still a hot, burning sensation and my jeans were a little uncomfortable, but that eased very soon after. I had one small bruise, about the size of a quarter, but no other marks or swelling, redness etc. I did have to pee a lot. They tell you to drink water to help your body flush out the fats. What they don't tell you is that your pee stinks!! I guess that's how you know it's working? About 5 days later and my pee still smells, but not as bad.

I do see the results and I've lost about 1cm on each side, so far. My fat pockets are definitely still present, but seem smoother and smaller. Also, my fat pockets were very hard before - even the Dr at the Coolsculpting clinic commented and noted I would need more treatments as a result. However, immediately after the treatment, they were softer and smoother, blending into my body more. The internet and my provider said at least three treatments to really see results. But, so far I'm very pleasantly surprised. I've booked my next treatment and look forward to completing a third round as well.

I think it worked well for me because of my body being generally slim where even a small difference is noticeable. I would not say this is a treatment for overall weight loss - not at all. Additionally, the area I treated was very specific and noticeable, again results were more obvious. I see this treatment is used for belly fat loss, but I think for very specific areas like hips, bra fat, muffin rolls etc. it would be most effective. But, I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on tv.
