Wish There Had Been More Reviews, 100% Money Wasted After Phenomenal Results with Lumenis 2 Years Ago

I was initially looking for Lumenis Ultra pulse treatment in Sydney having had phenomenal results with my Manhattan plastic surgeon two years ago when I did my blepharoplasty (I was meant to have a fat transfer under my eyes but since I weigh under 100 pounds, they said they could not find any fat on me, so they did the lumenis laser instead for around $2500 equivalent), and visiting Sydney as we do every year, where of course, everything outside of America, dentistry, medicine, law (I was a lawyer in sf and nyc in the states) is just a bachelors degree, so is much cheaper, it seemed the ideal opportunity to do this laser on my body, much larger areas, as we live between New York and London, but everything even basic is botched in London even with the “best doctors on Harley Street“ (my mother was a practising doctor in London when she was still just a student at Harvard medical school, so would never risk laser or anything else there), but have had pretty positive experiences in Sydney, so seemed ideal to try a laser that I’ve already loved just under my eyes, for larger areas and a more affordable price as in New York they don’t really even seem to offer that for body, and if they did, it would be like $20,000 plus.

I went into a scar clinic, as they had the lumenis laser (honestly one of the only ones that was accurate with regards to having the laser going to the lumenis website to find providers, no one else on the website did), and they said they do not focus on aesthetics, so I should go to an aesthetic focused clinic but tell me about the ultra clear laser and said it had just as amazing results with much less downtime.

Consequently, I went to a clinic (with a fully licensed doctor pursuant to Australian standards, obviously just a bachelors so not qualified by American standards, however she is a “KOL“ for ultra clear in Australia, as in they’ve literally flown her to Melbourne and had her teach people about ultra clear), and the downtime afterwards was almost identical to lumenis, the process during was obviously pretty bad (but I cannot adequately compare considering I was unconscious for lumenis with surgery simultaneously), but my body started shaking after a certain point as I did the coring setting on my knees, opposite side of my elbows, hands, and around my mouth, I did the ultra clear setting on my entire arms, so doing large parts of the body nonetheless when they have the air-conditioning blasting, was not pleasant.

I was bleeding profusely afterwards, sleeping on towels, and the after-care not really any different – and I was even more extreme with it than what they suggested I do, so I was hopeful to have similar results to the lumenis.

Unfortunately, my skin was and is even worse afterwards and it has now been four months.

I would say it was similar to doing the weak ass pico laser in Kuala Lumpur last year (which of course the clinic in Sydney said they are not accustomed to caucasian skin, so of course it was too weak). Unfortunately, the ultra clear was the same way, same results or lack thereof - or worse.

The clinic ultimately gave me an 80% refund, although to be honest that was not sufficient (as it was a horrible procedure and afterwards was just as painful as lumenis, but with no positive results whatsoever, in fact along with my skin looking worse, I also have severe discolouration like I did with the weak pico laser).

I will say that we reached out to ultra clear corporate in America, and they were kind of laughably useless. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised since they really don’t seem to have any repercussions as there’s no way to leave them a bad review directly. And after, as in months after I had mine, my boyfriend found a bunch of reviews on the Internet that I had not seen before when doing research in Australia (maybe because I was doing the research in Australia, where it is very new) that evidenced that other people have the same useless experience with this crappy laser.

I just really hope someone gets a word out there that the ultra clear is completely useless and please don’t waste your money.

At least since I was in Australia I only wasted many thousands of Australian dollars and only a few thousand American dollars, but the results were literally laughable.

Every single day I’m still upset about it (and planning on trying to figure out a way to do Lumenis on my body after summer ends).

And again, she is a KOL for ultra clear in Australia, so someone that would be the best at it in the country.

photos are before and after (and in between/during recovery). But you can’t tell the difference. I can add photos that show the skin discoloration as well, and will do so if anyone wants me to, just a bit more hunting on my phone, even though it is super obvious, so I avoid shooting anything that shows pretty much anything of my body at this point (super fun during European summer, the entire reason I hid inside during the end of Sydney summer and our entire time in Asia over the last three months, to have great skin for European summer, nonetheless when we have a hobby Instagram with which we take pictures of ourselves of luxury properties, Bulgari, Belmond, etc., hotels).
