Ultherapy melted my face - stay away from this device

Ultherapy Melted My Face

This review is a full 2 months, or 9 weeks post procdure - however you want to count. I am 47, I had no wrinkles and had a healthy face with strong collagen and fat. I was trying to address my neck, which had some crepiness and also tighten my jaw line. I had the procedure done to my lower face, neck and brows. My fat loss was immediate (ie. the next day it was apparent, even with the microswelling) and it continues to worsen. My dermatologist (Harvard trained!) gave me a full refund and offered to give me filler once I healed. She said she'd never seen this happen before. She took pictures at 3 weeks and it was shocking. While I've seen slight improvement in some areas in the weeks since, its nothing to offest the devestation. My under eyes have aged significantly due to the loss of fat in my checks. I have deep nasolabial folds and forehead wrinkles where I'd never had any before. I look very haggard, gaunt and sick. My skin is thin and squishy, it moves all around my face. This has aged me 10 years, easily. I'm trying to stay hopeful that things will improve, but I know that I'm never getting the same face back. I probably won't upload photos since this is so devastating and personal.... but please -stay away from this device! I was always so pround that I looked 10 years younger than my age. This has changed all that. It has ruined my face for the rest of my life.

I'm so sorry this happened. Thanks for calling attention to it here. The body has an amazing ability to repair itself. Hopefully, this will stimulate collagen production over time.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. Your experience sounds a lot like mine - I also posted a review here. There’s a Facebook support group that I’ve found really helpful - I’ll message you the link if you’re interested. Wishing you healing.

Hi there. Could I have the link to the facebook group? I got Exilis360 3-4 months ago and am having really similar experience to you.

Maybe first ask your “Harvard” trained doctor if the device or transducers are genuine? Fat loss on the face usually happens with non-original devices.

Plushik, then please explain all the facial and nerve damage lawsuits against Merz, the manufacturer of Ultherapy through the law firm Harman Law and Cutter Law. You would be wise to spend your time getting educated on both the implications of applying high energy devices as well as the Merz's early history of falsely labeling Ultherapy FDA approved when it was tacitly FDA cleared in order to give the semblance of safety (fraudulence, deceptive practices etc). Since then they have become very much aware of the dangerous side effects through the lawsuits filed against them, yet they keep the product on the market. Practitioners are heavily influenced by representatives to buy the machine telling them how much money they can make, and then once the expensive machine is purchased practitioners have to then pay for it by providing treatments even if they're getting complaints, which is very unethical and unscrupulous. It's called greed. Any practitioner (at this point) who says they've never seen fat loss before is either lying or not experienced, both of which are dangerous to the consumer public. The problem doesn't lie with the "transducer head", the problem lies with the technology itself.

And to the dmaguire82, I'm sorry this happened to you, you must be devastated. I'm sure you did your due diligence in searching out the most reputable doctor possible (obviously) and you put your trust in someone who should have done there due diligence to do no harm. At this point there are no excuses for any practitioners who are still even taking a remote chance using this dangerous device that has a track record of causing damage.

I remember about 4 years ago on here the reviews were down in the 60%'s and then a whole bunch of positive reviews started popping up probably driven by Merz representatives, or pushed by doctors on to their patients to give a review quickly after their treatment while there's still swelling. As you can see the reviews are going back down into the 60s again, so nothing has changed. The only thing constant is tha people continue to be damaged.

As far I know its already done more than 2 mln Ultherapy treatments. If it would really cause a fat loss, it will much more complaints and information about it. If you had the rare individual reaction it’s one story and here is needed to figure out in details what chronic deceases you do have, what treatments were done before and after and etc.

I've been damaged. Its been validated by my dermatolgist, a plastic surgeon and am add't dermatologist. We're here seeking help and support. No chronic "deceases" as you say.... very healthy 47 yr old with bouncy bright skin - left with thin thin skin and no fat or collagen left to hold my face up.

What kind of word salad is that? Now you're just grasping at straws trying to bring blame the victim rather than the practitioner or the technology itself. The instances of fat loss and nerve damage have nothing to do with pre-existing conditions. You don't know what you're talking about. Good-Bye.

6 months out from the procedure and things did improve from where I was a the 2month mark. However, my face is changed forever. I have a wavy, wonky jowl-y jaw. My full cheeks are gone, the fat has dropped into my lower face. I have marionette lines around the mouth area now - since everything has dropped and feel droopey. The worst part is what its done to my neck. I have so much loose skin since my previously full face and jaw used to hold it up. Fillers or surgery are my options now.....Though I'm terrified to do anything after this experience. My provider has been extremley supportive through all of this. I feel for everyone who's been damaged and had their provider turn their back on them. She's validated everything and worked with me on how best to fix this.
