I Sincerely Regret Having Double Jaw Surgery

I underwent double jaw surgery last year to advance my moderately retrognathic jaws. The reason for this was mainly aesthetic as I thought it would help fix what I disliked about my appearance which has caused problems in my life for many years. However since after the operation I feel far worse and wish I had never had it done now. Not only has it not fixed what I disliked about my face but I actually think it looks worse sometimes and also think that I looked ok before the operation. Not only this but I now have severe irritation and hypersensitivity/pain in my lower face particularly around the lower lip/chin area which is not going away. I just wish I could have my natural face again and not the knowledge that my face was cut open, broken and screwed back together again.

You need to go to claimingpower.com as the admin who started this website has a lot to say about the success rate of jaw surgery. Usually the ones that are successful are using the correct tongue posture. And the ones who don’t experience exactly what you are describing. Please check it out, there is still hope for you. There is a lot of information that not all oral surgeons etc seem to know about. What’s important is making your tongue go practically flat up against the roof of your mouth and swallowing correctly. You’ve got to read it for yourself. It takes time and patience. And practice.

Need more info here. Which surgeon? Private or NHS? What movements did you have done in the surgery?
