Undergoing the following 3 procedures in a few hours:
- Buccal Fat Removal
- Chin/Neck Liposuction
- Anterior Platysmaplasty
Looking forward to it, and will update on the results soon. So far the hospital ward (private) - Welbeck Hospital, is amazing and staff/nurses/ surgeon made me feel comfortable.

3-4 hours post-surgery

2-4 hours after procedure
Feeling minimal pain, just a bit of soreness in my cheeks (presumably from buccal fat removal). But I can honestly say this was far, far less painful/ uncomfortable than many visits to the dentist/orthodontist.
My main concern a few hours before surgery, was that the needle for general anesthetic would hurt (was recalling hospital visits where a bluntish needle is stuck and left in your arm). But this was a barely feelable, tiny prick. The last thing I remember, is the surgeon telling me I will start feeling sleepy soon, and another nurse placing some kind or sensor below my chest. The next think I recall is waking up around 4pm (4 hours after surgery), to the surgeon informing me that all had gone well, and I would need to follow a liquid diet for the next ;8 hours.
My nose is a bit sniffly, as if I had a very minor cold, and throat/ inside months is a tiny bit sore 1 but again, it's hardly anything and similar to having a cold.
So far, much less daunting than I expected! I had a 4 hour wait before my surgery which really helped - got a chance to relax, and watch some TV in bed! The private hospital (Weymouth Hospital, London), where the surgery was conducted, has been amazing. All the nurses/ staff/ anaesthetist were very friendly and helpful.
Didn't feel too disorientated, just a very slightly dizziness once I regained consciousness from the anesthetic.

Thank you for your post! I can't wait to see your pics when you've healed a little!
How long is your expected recovery time?

Hi, I was told to expect swelling to decrease after 3-4 days, but to take up to 2 weeks recovery time. Thank you :), will update pictures soon

Day 5 Post-Op
canthopexyJune 20, 2016
5 days have now passed. I have no visible bruising on my neck, but the skin feels slightly sore to touch. Since Day 3, I have been applying Arnica gel, and taking Bromelain + the prescribed antibiotics.
To update you, on days 1-3 post-op, I had pretty huge swelling in my cheeks (esp the lower and outer edges of the cheeks), which looked chipmunk like. I also briefly took off my compression garment on Day 2, and it didn't look very different to my pre-op profile. I was hoping to achieve a more defined jawline, and there is still swelling, so I'm hoping once this goes down I will see more results.
The arnica gel provides a very relieving cooling sensation, and together with ice packs (20 mins at a time), the swelling has gone down slightly. However, my face and neck are still puffer than I had anticipated.
I've been seeing very gradual improvement since day 4, but don't really look very different to pre-op, apart from my neck looking more 'raised'. Will keep you posted, hopefully by the 1 week mark I'll see more jawline and cheek definition.
I believe the healing process can be slow, so I'm going to be patient!

All good thanks! Is this a procedure you were considering

Results perhaps more subtle than I would have liked; but believe this may be due to my personal underlying anatomy
