I was referred to the Bariatric Surgery program at UCLA by my cardiomyopathy doctors.
I just got back home a little over a week ago. I am already seeing weight loss, and anticipate great benefit to my cardiac situation with the upcomming weight loss.
It cost me a total of $500+travel expenses; however, with the hope of great health benefits post surgery, it seems like a drop in the bucket.
I had no choice but to get my surgery at UCLA as I am in heart failure, and my cardiomyopathy doctors needed to be present in case anything bad happened.
I worked my ass off in the pre-weeks to get in the best possible shape I was capable of so that there would not be any adverse affects in surgery. My efforts paid off, and the skill of the medical facility left me with a fairly event free experience.
I am on week 2, and now it is up to me.
What will happen--we will see.

Provider Review
Dr Erik Dutson
Great service in a great facility. It was a tad bit of a financial drain to me because I like in Bakersfield and had a commute, but in the end, it will all be worth it.
