I've have wanted to get rid of my fat belly for...

I've have wanted to get rid of my fat belly for years. i tried cutting back on sweets (I am a sweet-a-holic) and going to the gym but neither ever last long. even when I lose weight the belly stays. The thought of a tummy tuck was scary and seemed unrealistic to me, until I started reading all the posts on this site of you all who have had the procedure or waiting to have it. A lot of the women were scared too, so that helped me to know its prob normal to feel that way, and the fact they made it through the procedure fine and recovered well. Helped to ease my fears. After my consultation I started to feel a little excited, but still scared some as well. But I can't wait to have better curves and flat abds. I don't even remember what my belly looks like flat. The last time it was flat was prob when I was in elementary. Lol.

I just had my Abdominoplasty December 17th of this year. I tell u this, there's nothing to be nervous about but make sure u have ur pains meds & someone to help care for you round the clock for a while. I'm 1 week post op & as I sit here & type I'm definitely in pain. I've sat in a chair for the last 7 days, bathed when I could & slept most of the time. I'm ready for the healing process to be over with. Good luck!

Oh my. I thought the pain wold subside in a week. My PS said I would be able to go back to work in 2 weeks. Does that sound doable to you? I don't want to go back in pain. What makes the pain better ( besides pain pills) or worst. I hate taking pain pills they make me nauseous.

Well I'm 8 days post op now & I don't take my pain meds anymore & haven't for 2 days. I still have pain....with my Abdominoplasty I also had liposuction & muscle tightening done. I'm a stomach & side sleeper & it really has jacked my sleep all up with having to sleep on my back :( I have a friend that's had this same procedure done & he said it definitely gets better at the 2 week mark. By 1 month things should be at least 75% better & he said it takes 1 year to completely heal. Unfortunately he has gained all his weight back plus some. I'm not sure what happened but that's my worst fear so I've changed my whole eating lifestyle. I can't see spending that much on surgery to gain it all back plus some. I figured out that a heating pad works at night or during the day for back pain. This binder garment is giving me fits. I'm actually ready to throw it in the trash lol but I wont, I know it helps keep your shape, supposedly! Also I've heard that buying one of those spanx garments can take the place of your binder as well. I'm really just ready for this pain, tightness & feeling of being uncomfortable will just go away...I'm so ready to be me again!!!! I do hope you find relief & please keep in touch!!!

Thanks for the great info. I actually did think the weight would come back in the abdominal area. Glad to know that so I can work at keeping it off. I would hate to go through all that money and pain to have the weight come back. I wear spanx now, I have to in order to pull all this tummy in to look decent in my clothes. But they are very hard to put on (pull up) I can't see pulling them up if my stomach is already sore. Is the CP garment hard to put on? I need to go buy a heating pad. Thanks.

No ma'am the compression garment is like a huge ace bandage that's got some spandex retention to it. It's not really uncomfortable it's just the fact that ur ready to take it off & leave it off. But other than that it just wraps around you & velcro's closed. I don't think the spanx thing would be a good idea the first week after surgery but I can actually see managing 2 put one on at ur 2 week mark or so. Definitely go buy a heating pad..it'll be ur best friend lol. I need to get a spanx actually. Is there stores that carry them because I have no clue as to what size to buy! Also, I'm actually not far from you. I live in Marshall, Tx. It's about 55 miles from you...cool coincidence :)

I buy mine at Dillard's in Longview, my PS is in Tyler. Did you use a Ps in our area? Did he or she do a good job? Please post before and pics if you're comfortable with sharing. I am so ready to have a cute flat tummy and wear cute little fitted clothes.

Im 2 days post op and after the first night it gets much better. Even the awful pain 1st night I was just grateful my abdominal over hang was gone. Thats all I could think about. Good luck!! You'll do just fine.

My PS said she would inject Exparel into the muscles to help with pain for the first 72 hours. Did your PS use this med? Is the awful pain only with movement or is it present when being still? I'm trying to get ready for what to expect.

Wonderful. I will be following your post thats close to when I'll have mine done.

Two Weeks Pre Op

Davorshea22
Today was my pre op appointment day. My PS and her nurse answered more questions and took some before pics. My husband was able to accompany me at the visit and was also able to ask questions an see a few pics of some of the tummy tucks she has performed. I feel a little less anxious, and I'm ready to get this done and start healing. Two more weeks. YaY!!!

Irritable and Emotional

Davorshea22
12 days pre-op and I'm finding myself so emotional and I get irritated easily. Has anyone else experienced this pre-op? If so, how did you handle it? I guess I'm thinking about to surgery, hoping everything goes well and anticipating the pain and discomfort after surgery. It's stressing me out. I find my self on this site everyday 5-10 times a day. Ugh! Trying to stay focused on good results and be positive.

I am the same way. Im excited and nervous at the same dang time. I'm scheduled for Jan 7, only a few days away & I tell you I've gotten extremely nervous all over again lol. Good luck to you!

Thank you. I had to get up and get out the house for a little while to settle my mind. I'm just praying I'm making the right decision, I would love to have flat abds, I enjoy being able to read about the successful stories on RS but I freak out every time someone has a bad outcome like blood clots or wounds that's separate and have trouble healing. I feel selfish when I think about the risks and I have kids to consider. So I pray I have a successful surgery and recovery. My PS assured me the risks are very low, so that helps. I'll be praying for you and following your progression, also. Wishing us both a successful surgery and speedy recovery.

It's hard not to stress prior to a big sx. Sorry to hear about your breakup but they'll be sorry too when they see how sexy you'll be looking soon. Try to stay focused on positive things and good results. You're going to be just fine and a ms hottie. Stay connected to RS it helps a lot. Keep us updated on your sx and recovery.
