I'll heard some say that you won't have a belly button after a panniculectomy. I want a belly button! I know underpants can cover up the scar, but not having a belly button would have people doing a double take at a pool.
I have a heavy, kangaroo pouch that is my main concern. I can never get clothes to fit because of my stomach. I know a tummy tuck would make it look better, but I think I'll be happy if my clothes fit and I can put on toe nail polish.

I had my first consultation with Dr Stanley J Harper at Turkle & Associates, in Indianapolis, In. I was very happy with staff and Dr. Harper treated me like I was the last patient of the day (at least I don't think I was!) - he didn't make me feel rushed and waited patiently for me to form my questions. The only thing that made me uneasy is what he said I could expect for the final results - not that great. I've seen before and after pictures of people who have claimed to have had a Panni, but I don't think mentioned that they had other things done too. So, I may not be 100% happy, but at least I won't have the fatty pouch. My surgery is scheduled for Jan 19, 2015

I just lost my belly button because I had extensive hernia repair during surgery that no one anticipated. However, it's not a big deal. Small sacrifice for a better body.

No matter what you will not have that pennus hanging and it feels so great I look at myself in the mirror and I can't believe it's not there anymore I've had my abdominalplasty done 14th of January going on two weeks I have been wearing my girdle faithfully I've taken a few pictures if you want to see my profile I'm very itchy my dream is still in. hopefully this Friday I will get it out since last Friday when I had my first week post op I was still draining too much. I did get on the scale and I have not lost a lot of weight but the shape of my body is very different now they took off I believe 20 pounds of skin from underneath my belly button I did get a new belly button hole made it looks awesome. Good luck.

Thank you for getting back with me! I love hearing everyone's story.
I had a hip replacement on Dec 21 and my Panni was scheduled a month later. My Ortho Doctor wouldn't give the OK for Panni - said I should wait 6 months. Now I'm going to have to wait another year because I don't want be restricted in the summer. I'm pretty depressed about it.

I just got my first section tatttoo on my stomach. Although it looks nothing like I wanted, it does serve the purpose of covering at least one area of ugly scarring.
The good news is that i could barely feel it because, after two years, that area is STILL numb. The pain level of the area I had tattooed is known as the “pass out” level.

I like a nice pedicure too :)
