How it works
- Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
- This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
- Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
- Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.
If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

Consultation review - not really a consultation but more of a lecture of how my nose is perfect :/
So I have recently had a consultation with my PS - really tried to explain that my nose has been shortened and rotated up ( it’s a difficult battle because a shortened/ upritated nose is the goal and means a successful procedure in Turkey UNFORTUNATELY ) - the fact is even if only 3mm of caudal septum was resected ( their argument ) - that’s still enough to give a upturned look ( at the end of the day we are talking about your nose which is sitting in the Center of your face and Is not a large structure in the first place ). If 3 mm has been taken off your arm or or some where else maybe the difference would not be as drastic. Firstly, my PS and his team were very happy with my results and thought I was crazy for complaining :/ ( they failed to note the changes were not what were discussed in any shape or form - but is that my fault for putting my trust in someone who produces clone noses ( my research was flawed ) - the reason I chose my surgeon was because he specialises only in noses ( so I thought although he produces upturned and clone noses - surely the only reason for that is - is that the patients are asking for those results - so if I explain what I want he should know what to do because I just want a refinement - but one thing I have realised is that - only a very experienced expert can give you a refinement procedure - it’s actually easier for them to give you a clone nose with over resection than to work around your individual features ( initially my thought process was if they can make such drastic chages - convex to concave / scoopy - surely a conservative procedure will be a walk in the park for any Turkish surgeon - BUT I WAS VERY WRONG BECAUSE they only know of one technique and they apply that to everyone - so if you analyse their result you will see a similar end shape for all their patents with minimal differences ( and if any differences is present it’s due to their original features resisting the “cloning process “ e.g. longer columella - nostril width etc ). 1. If you show a Turkish surgeon results of American procedures ( where 90% of surgeons understand a rhinoplasty is about refinement and not replacing your nose - the Turkish doctors will say it’s a failed procedure - that’s how deluded they are and obviously not updated with the current times where individuality is to be celebrated ). 2. My question is - if my PS understands my concern now ( even though he thinks what I want is not aesthetically acceptable and all his patients have a nose that looks like mine ( upturned nose ) is there any chance he will be able to reverse / create a tip similar to your original ( my reason for this is - He knows what my original Anatomy looked like and has worked on my nose before - so maybe it should be possible for him to relenghten and derotate my nose to the original position ) - from my research I have not come across many people who have had a positive revision with their original doctor. 2.1 my doctor does not have any revisions where he is lenghtening / derotating noses ( that’s a sin in Turkey ) 2.2 but he knows what was resected so maybe he can commit to this sin once 2.3 does anyone follow where I stand - as in he understands what my goal is and is willing to correct the “ perfect nose” 3. My minor fear is if I choose a new doctor - maybe there will be more damage done as he is having to work through scar tissue + structural changes made by first doctor ( my surgical report is very basic and I fear it may not be accurate ).
- I would love to hear what your views are on this matter
- I have 3 names on my mind for a possible revision procedure ( dr enrico, dr Alejandro , Dr Sebastiano 50/50 - all these doctors have done derotation and lenghtening revisions ) - but will need more in person consults to come to the right decision.

think twice about going to turkey for rhinoplasty
Warning a lot of rambling is possible ——
Quick Note - before you get to the stage of researching doctors and locations please think very long and hard about rhinoplasty or any cosmetic procedure.
( it’s so much more than the physical change - you cannot forget that this nose is a small part of your whole identity - and as you commence this journey we forget all about our poor identity which ends up suffering in some cases. Therefore it’s extremely Important to choose a doctor that understand the importance of identity and is on the same page as you if rhinoplasty is the route you choose - I wish I had understood the concept of identity before entering the world of rhinoplasty - maybe I would have been clearer in communicating the changes I desired or maybe I would not have entered this rhinosplasty world altogether - who knows ?! ).
So I had my rhinoplasty three months ago - now some may say it’s too early to comment - it takes time to get used to the new appearance ( I have heard it all - but the fact is my nose has been shortened and turned up BECAUSE THIS IS THE STANDARD MANOEUVRE PERFORMED BY ALL SURGEONS IN ISTANBUL - it’s a lottery everyone receives the same procedure some are lucky and the results fit their faces whilst others receive a “botched procedure “ - so why does this happen - one reason which I have already mentioned is that everyone receives the same procedure - but hold on ?! that should surely mean everyone should end up with great results - ( the following is a basic fact that I have already learnt from just three months of research - so what boggles my mind is how can the doctors in Istanbul ( all the end results are pretty much the same for all the doctors I have come across ) not realise the same procedure is not going to work for everyone ( now my review to some extent is bias because I am fully aware that surgeons in other countries also follow a similar practice but I only have first hand experience with Turkish doctors ). Okay back to my story- so like I mentioned I had my procedure 3 months ago ( My research into choosing my surgeon WAS ALL WRONG - influenced by social media ( I realise now that I put myself in a very very bad position so to some extent should be grateful I can breathe ). The minute i gained consciousness post surgery I knew something was “off / not right “ how can my nose be sitting at such a angle ( I could not anatomically understand it so messaged the doctor from my hospital bed - and as i waited for a response the sensation of doom filled overtook and I started realising something very wrong had happened ) so I get a message back from my doctor saying - nothing to worry about, ALL my patients have the same worry it’s just the cast making your nose look like that - i believed him 50 percent and asked him I hope my nose was not shortened - and he assured me that’s not the case the nose will come down to A NORMAL POSITION after cast removal and over the next three Months - so I beleived the Doctor ( because I had not done my homework so didn’t have much knowledge about the procedure - till this date I don’t understand how I was so naive thinking I know what I am doing ( in Reality like I have already mentioned I should be grateful that I can breathe because so much more could have gone wrong - to me my life has come to an end and there is no nose worse than mine but somewhere deep down I do still appreciate the fact it could still be worse - don’t want to accept the latter fact but there is some truth to it ). Ahh back to why my rhinoplasty experience went wrong like many others who complain of short and upturned noses - I honestly cannot understand how doctors can make this mistake ( mind boggling ) - in my opinion there are many reasons why the phenomena of short and upturned nose occurs 1. Surgeons in Istanbul beleive every female desires a upturned “piggy” nose
2. They don’t underand the concept of identity or ethnicity
3. They fail to consider the height and facial proportions
4. The Most crucial observation I have made is that Every patient complaining of a upturned and short nose usually has a longer columella - so even if the surgeon innocently only rotated the nose slightly - but due to the long colummella it looks excessive ( to me this is a groundbreaking discovery - I think I have found the answer to why some patients complain of the piggy look whilst others don’t even though the rotation is similar in both patients - maybe my theory is totally flawed but to me it makes a lot of sense )
5. The basic reason is all the doctors in my opinion only know of one nose design and they perform that on every patient.
I think my post is getting a bit long and even my thoughts are getting a bit muddled ( so not sure how clear my message is so far ). I will update my journey and thoughts - as I am looking for a revision to derotate my nose ( as soon as the healing period is over ).
