WORTH IT
Well thoroughly disappointed with the rash I developed from the Embrace silicone scar treatment tape I purchased. my crepey skin didn't do well with it :( oh well Maderma cream and Micropore it is then... way less expensive too!!
The massaging has really been helping with the swelling and softening up my scar lines, what I difference I can feel.
And my new compression garment too, feelin snatched! Lol :D

How do massagers help scars look better? I heard the famous YouTube dermatologist Dr Dray say that onion skin extract is irritating to the skin, and that's the ingredient in Mederma. I read somewhere that Mederma had the same effectiveness as oil (vitamin E oil?). I don't know what Micropore is, but I know what silicone scar strip are. Did you lose more than two pounds per week; I'd that why you have lose skin? How often did you shower during your weight loss? Did you apply lotion after getting out of the shower? Did you apply lotion at other times? I've heard of a couple people who say they don't have loose skin after extreme weight loss because they applied lotion a lot, like everyday. Dr Dray says it's OK to not use soap on non-smelly body areas, because soap is very drying, and accelerates trans epidermal water loss, which is bad. She says she only uses soap on her armpits, genitals, and feet, and then some sort of cleanser on her face and hands, if I recall correctly. She uses shampoo on her hair after workouts. So, if someone can't afford lotion, or is too lazy to rub lotion on their thighs, belly, butt and upper arms every time they get out of the shower, maybe a solution would be to just stop having showers and just wash one's armpits and genitals and feet and under the breasts and under the pannus (if your tummy hangs) everyday with a face cloth or sponge? Or do you think that even though soap or even just water isn't touching these areas, there is still trans epidermal water loss happening, and so people should use lotion (or better yet, cream) on these areas depot never washing them?

I have not had the chance to do a measurements update. Being back to work and travelling since. I also ended up catching a bug when I was away that's kicked my ass the last 5 days. So, so, so happy that I didn't get this a few weeks back when my abs were still sore! Lots of coughing and blowing my nose.
Overall, I've noticed more decrease in my swelling the last week and can feel the hardened spots along my scar when massaging now.
I had my 6 week follow-up appointment with my PS today. She commented that she should have tightened me up a little bit more on the right side and along the top of my vertical incision. She suggested these were two spots for a revision after the 9-month mark. I agree, as the swelling is coming down, the skin is loosening, which she says is common... damn crepey skin!!
I also got a smaller compression garment and started applying silicone tapes.

I hope you're on the mend soon from your cold! How much of your swelling would you say remains? For me I'd say at least 25% of my swelling is still there. My biggest fear is still having loose skin and bulges after the swelling subsides. I took a photo of me sitting with the current swelling (it's in my review) and I do not like the way things look right now. I hate feeling doubtful. Do you know how much she will charge for your revision?

I would say maybe 15% at lower incision and 40% at hips and flanks where lipo was. Lipo is the slowest for recovery. I'm so happy to say that the top area of my vertical incision where I had the big lump and swelling is completely gone now. My PS told me not to worry and that the swelling would subside and she was right!

And she said I would cover a percentage of anesthesiologist cost for revision so I will most likely just get my breast augmentation at that time anyway

I hope you're feeling better soon!!

Thank you! Feeling much much better :D

Day 30 - measurement update

Whatabroad
Well here it is, my one month update!
I'm very happy with my overall progress in healing, our bodies really are extraordinary.
Again this week I have seen significant improvements in the swelling with an overall 4.75 inch reduction:
Height: 5'10". Standing up straight now
Under bust: 34
At waist: 33.5
Belly button: 37.5
Hips at incision: 44.5
Thighs at lipo: 46
This was my first full week back to work and I did notice a little extra swelling around my belly button, most likely do to sitting much more than I have been... so many meetings this week! On Monday, I fly out to Ontario for a week for work meetings, 4 1/2 hour flight with very little movement, I have a feeling I'll see a return if swell hell :|
The spot where my incision had opened is healing very nicely again, I'm being extra careful to make sure nothing opens it backup! I have ordered Embrace silicone tapes and am looking forward to getting those on to help with the healing of my scars. I'm also looking forward to getting a new compression garment as well. The post surgical garment my PS gave me is too big now and I'm not feeling I'm getting much help from it. I'm mostly just wearing my binder.
My energy level is almost back to 100% and I have lengthened my daily walks to almost an hour now. I find myself quite tired at the end of the day and in bed relatively early... Not a bad thing as my body is still healing and needs that rest.

Amazing changes in measurements!!! I have also found my compression garment to be too loose now. I debated ordering anther one but I'm too cheap, lol. I'm only supposed to wear it until week 6 so I think I'll just forgo the cg during the day at work and wear my velcro binder at home and at night. Good luck with the flight on Monday. Just drink a lot of water!

Fantastic numbers, you must be thrilled!! Good luck with the flight, I hope the swelling doesn't get too bad!!

Thank you! So glad I started measurements instead of pictures, it's easier to see the changes with the tape measure :D
