Finally, my Review

My overall experience with Dr. Griner was great. He and his staff are nice, friendly, and attentive. I had my surgery on July 29th, 2021, I did not immediately see Dr. Griner after surgery but saw him afterward for weeks and months of care. I have waited for my one-year post-op to post my review because of certain things that I was unhappy with after my surgery. I had a tummy tuck with abdominal liposuction also liposuction of the back and fat transfer to the breast. I am a 38 mom of 5 and had weight loss resulting in the excess abdominal skin. There are various reasons why I waited this long to review, one was because of the swelling and others were because I was told That I needed to wait for six months Post stop and then One-year postop To see true final results. I am now at my one-year mark and I went in for my final result check on 7/18/22 I am still numb in the abdominal area and I am supposed to have revision to my hip skin, dog tag-ear/mons area in August. The surgery process and recovery were hard as some of the pain was only manageable with meds, the easy part was patiently waiting because of course we have to sit here and wait for results after the body has recovered. After about six months I started to see what my body would actually look like and I was not happy with what I was seeing. I called the office and they told me that I needed to wait for my one-year mark so that they can better evaluate, my concerns. Major concerns were volume from my fat transfer to the breast, and the liposuction areas, also still had excess skin in my hip areas, mons areas that were supposed to be fixed at the surgery. I was not happy with it because I had excess skin on my side hip on both sides that appear to be love handles. I believe they have a term for it called dog tags or dog ears. I will post photos so you guys can see what I am talking about. My mons area was left droopy and looks like a bulgy pouch. I also want to mention that my surgery was done simultaneously with another doctor at their facility. Doctor Guilfoyle. Overall the tummy tuck scar healed very beautifully and my belly button is very pretty I am very happy with the outcome of the belly button and scaring. My liposuction was another one of my concerns because it was not evenly on both sides of my body. One side especially in the abdomen appeared to be protruded more so than the other, my left side front, and back of my body seemed to have more fat. At my one-year appointment, I mentioned this to doctor Griner and he informed me that perhaps it was my own body that was shaped that way because of my weight loss and own skin, organs, and whatever I HAVE INTERNALLY. He also mentioned that liposuction cannot be perfect because symmetrically that cannot happen and I completely understand that. But I do not recall having my body look that way prior to surgery of course it's not going to since it has had major surgery done. But I do know the difference between my body from before and after and the fat/skin I can see that wasn't right or there before, I understand the skin laxity can be different in certain places but it is obvious to me that there is some extra fat in the abdomen. The mons area was one of my top concerns prior to surgery and after surgery, it was still not corrected, I hope to have that issue resolved at my revision surgery in August. This has been such a long process and I do not expect perfection I am also very realistic with my expectations. I know I do not have young skin as explained to me by the doctor but I would like to get closer to my pr-baby body now almost 40-(again) realistically speaking. I simply wanted the excess skin removed from babies/weight a firmer abdomen-less back/bra fat and more volume in the breast. I have revision next month and really hope to get my money's worth. The fat transfer to the breast was not as bad as I thought it would be in the pain just as much as having engorged breasts from breastfeeding it was however very uncomfortable and I had to baby my breasts for about four months without wearing a bra to get the most out of the transfer I did not want a lift I simply wanted a little more volume and fullness to my breast. My results were not significant enough, in my opinion, to go through surgery as it was not very successful, The change I expected was not dramatic lift or engorgement but I do wish it would have been slightly more full since the difference was not obvious even to myself. As I mentioned I have a revision next month and I will post other pictures from that. Overall I like my new body better than my old one from a year ago, I thank Dr. Griner and his staff for assisting me through my change process.
