6 months out
WORTH IT$8,000
So 6 mo out. Very happy with my decision. Scar is slowly fading and I’m hoping my belly button goes a little more in with time.
I slacked a bit on the exercise the past 3 months and just started running again. I hope to lose 5 pounds by the summer. Currently I’m about 4 lb under my presurgery weight.

3 months - scar treatments
3 mo update
So I don’t know if I look much different now than a month ago. I still get swollen if I eat a lot of salty food and after running or being on my feet all day. I wear spanx or similar while at work and that helps keep the swelling down.
Scar
I was given biocornium by my ps for scar treatment. It seems good and it’s easy to use but I don’t have anything to compare it to. My ps pretty much said to just be patient.
I opted to try the embrace system for comparison but it is so expensive (I used 3 large strips for the long incision and a medium over the belly button). I don’t think I will continue because it’s day 3 and it’s a little itchy and annoying to have what feels like packing tape across my belly. I’ll post a picture of the scar next week when I take the tape off.
I’m using bio oil as a general moisturizer over my belly
Exercise - I’m running (ran 4 miles in 38 minutes on Christmas Eve!! Personal record) but I haven’t gone back to my gym yet. My ps said to wait 3-6 month for core exercises and to start slow so I’m going to go back to training next week but will try to be gentle. I have a trip planned for the Caribbean on Valentine’s Day so I would love to get some definition and work on muscle tone.
I weighed 138-142 before the surgery and now I’m between 135-138 without dieting. I’d love to get to 130 but I need to start going to the gym again!!

Pre- Thanksgiving Update
Quick update -
I’m slowly getting back to working out. Since so much of my regular workout is core based I decided to hold off on weights and start running again.
My abs feel really tight in general and sometimes they feel tense like a muscle spasm. The skin feels tight as well (sort of like the feeling you get when a face mask dries). I’m working on gentle stretches.
Scar seems to be healing well. My belly button is still a little red as is the central part of the lower abd incision.
I’m using silicon gel and trying to massage (though I’m not sure if I’m massaging too hard/not hard enough/too long/etc)
