I am not jumping up as fast as others recovering from TT/MR/Lipo. I haven’t posted in a while! This week at my appointment I had my last drain removed. It’s a quick burn, but so thankful to have them out. I am pretty much on bed rest this week now that both drains are out to lessen the chances of a seroma. On top of that, I now am wearing Spanx, a foam core as well as my binder. My necrosis eschar has to be debrided, unveiling a lovely hole the size of the top part of an index finger. I had a meltdown during the appointment! My PS suggested I ask for my Primary to perhaps prescribe something for my anxiety. Being that I am staying with family for recovery (6 hours from home), I am so homesick and ready to be home. My PS said that I can return home within the next few weeks, but will have to continue care with a wound care clinic once returned. She made it sound as if I’m going to be receiving care for a few months. It’s been a few days since the wound ‘reveal’, and I am slowly accepting it and realizing that it’s not the end of the world.

Well, the PS had warned me due to me stopping smoking only 2 months prior to surgery, there is a chance of necrosis. During my exam, she marked a possible spot and we will measure it at appointments. Although I just want to throw my hands in the air, I have to focus on the positive of feeling good, and otherwise healing very good. Thankfully I had my first bowel movement today!! Hooray!! OMG, I was so scared! After taking Colace, Dulcolax, warm prune juice and an herbal tea, today was the day, without any pain (except the uncomfortable drains).
