My Transformation at Age 48!

I struggled with my weight my entire life. I did everything from A to Z, even had a roux en y gastric bypass in 2008. I got alot lighter, but my apron was significant. I accepted my body as is, and told myself this is what I'm supposed to look like; I'm almost 50 for goodness sake. My husband nudged me into thinking I could and should do more. It took a few years before I even agreed to consider something so major. I was scared, but after reading and seeing results of so many similar stories on this site, I agreed to take the next step. I met with countless doctors, and they all said basically the same thing in about an 8-10 minute consult. None of them jumped out at me until I met with Dr. Buchanan. The consultation alone was over an hour long. He went over every procedure with me, not just the one I went in to speak to him about. He not only reviewed each surgery with me, he personally drew a picture of each one to show me visually what my body would go through before and after the procedure. To say he was thorough is an understatement. He was the last doctor I met with, and before I left his office that morning I knew he was the one for me. I scheduled my Surgery that morning - put a hefty down payment. Dr. Buchanan was a little higher than everyone else I met with, so he allowed me to make weekly payments to cover the balance still due, up until pre-op. His staff, the entire process was seamless. Dr. Buchanan went above and beyond for me. He more than once viewed my body, figuring out exactly where he could make improvements within the realm of what I was paying him for, of course. I'm very grateful to him, his expertise and his staff. The staff at the Surgery Center were fantastic also. I can't think of one negative experience. I had three drains, and each week a drain was removed, by Dr. Buchanan. My next check up will be in August. I'm not 100% since it's been just over one month after my surgery. My incisions are still tender due to the silicone strips and vitamin E, and in some spots I still have some numbness. I'm hoping in another month I'll be 90%, and in another month 100%? LOL. I've had zero healing issues. I strongly encourage anyone with the same issues, to take the plunge and get what you deserve - a healthier looking/feeling you. If you live in or near the Tampa Bay area, I absolutely recommend Dr. Buchanan. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to message me.

Amazing!! 18lbs that your body doesn't have to struggle to carry anymore!
Total transformation of your body for sure but this also must have you feeling so much more. Congratulations and I look forward to seeing your next update!

It's been an amazing experience. I would not have done this without my husband pushing me to get it done. We recently took our vacation and I was extremely comfortable the entire trip - airplane ride was very pleasant (no need to ask for a seat belt extender). I love my results and I love my doctor. I'm very happy - I'll be 49 next month, and I feel 29 again. It's been life changing.

Yes, I agree. Next Surgery will be inner thighs! It is amazing how much my apron covered a very large portion of my legs. I had no idea my thighs were so massive. I sleep on my stomach - left side mostly, with my right leg hiked up. So Ive always had more of a fat roll on my right side, under my right breast, which you can clearly see. My left side under my breast has always been more flat, because that is the side that held the bulk of my weight when I slept majority of my life. Left side has a lift at the end of incision. I am still swollen, so we will see how this looks in another month. Regardless, I am to the moon with my entire experience, results/outcome.

Are there any tt or lipo that does not cause numbing

I'm not sure. I do know for my procedure I was told: Discomfort or tightness and tingling will resolve. It may take several weeks to months for this to return to normal and there may be some small areas that remain slightly numb.

You are healing so well, you must be feeling so confident in your decision for surgery. Are you still wearing the silicone tapes?

Thank you - yes it has been one of the best decisions I've made in my life. No, I'm not wearing the silicone strips anymore. I stopped wearing them after the first month.
