6 1/2 Weeks ...SOOOOO Swollen

BacktoFlat51220
WORTH IT$8,000
It’s been a few weeks since I updated. Overall things have been going really well. I had another follow up with my PS and things look good. Both he and the nurse commented on how tight and swollen I am still. He said it’s normal at this stage but ugh, I hate it! So many things don’t fit. I am very please with my flat stomach and overall appearance but getting dressed can be frustrating. I guess I’m glad that the nurse and doctor commented on the swelling, at least I know this will get better. Patience just isn’t my strength, LOL.

You look great, even swollen! I’m so sorry for everything you’ve had to go through. I am post op day 12 and still have my one drain. Hoping to get it out Wednesday. I’m pretty much back to normal, well as much as normal lugging this drain around. I have an adjustable bed and I think it made sleeping much more comfortable. Man, those first few days were brutal, so glad they are over. I just hated that I needed the help, but very grateful for it. I’m kinda worried about my belly button, too. It looks kinda small. My ps said it will get bigger as it heals. He hasn’t steered me wrong yet, so we’ll see. Keep posting!

Thank you! Honestly, other than that stinking rashy reaction I had several weeks ago my recovery has been really good. I’m just impatient and anxious to se the final results. It’s crazy how days drag but weeks fly by! This swelling is a nuisance and uncomfortable at times but it’s not terrible. At least I’m not in a ton of pain like I know some people have been.
Good luck to you on Wednesday! Getting that drain was one of the best days of my life, LOL.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. Are you wearing any compression garment and how difficult is it to put on?
July 2, 2020
Hi there. Yes I'm wearing several different ones at different times. Mostly I wear the wrap they put on after surgery which is just a band with Velcro. I bought a similar one from Amazon that I trade off so I can wash them. If I'm going out, or going to be in something more form fitting I will wear a Spanx type panty or body trimmer. Harder to get on but not too bad at this point. I'm starting to try and spend a few hours without one every day to get used to it.

Belly button progress pictures

BacktoFlat51220
I wanted to post a few pictures of my belly button to show how it has changed in the first four weeks since my surgery. This is something I was very curious about and didn’t find a lot of information on. Hopefully this will be helpful to others. As I mentioned, I was very unhappy at first. I’ve talked to my PS and his nurse and both tell me it will continue to improve in appearance over the next several months.

I'd like to follow your progress. You still look a little swollen. Did you have the muscle repair?

My physicians assistant told me that getting the belly button right is the hardest part of the whole tummy tuck
July 2, 2020
I believe it! Honestly I've had a big belly for so long I've forgotten what my belly button looks like! LOL.

My sister was like, you're 54 years old. So what if you don't wear a bikini! Your stomach is FLAT! Who cares what your belly button looks odd. How long ago was your surgery?

Jan 2019....I just updated my scar pics....and ironically posted a bikini pic....I am now 58 and live in my bikinis....I've always been a big girl but it somehow no longer bothers me....I had a full mommy makeover in one 8 hour surgery

Amazing!! I've never had children so my boobs are pretty good. Wasn't worth the $$$ or the extra recovery. But now I something wish...

I never had kids either but I never had pretty boobs either....I was a chronic extreme Dieter..mup a hundred down a hundred at least 4 times...it took a toll....i'll be celebrating 4 years on weight watchers next week....this summer was the first summer in my life that I was able to fit into the same clothes as a year ago....when I went for my consultation I needed the tummy tuck, wanted the high volume lipo and rewarded myself for going through it with new boobs....I am ready for my arms and lower face and neck lift hoping for January 2021

Took some pics this morning before swelling starts. The rash is faded a LOT. The lines are from the seams of the t I’m wearing under my binder. I’m really happy so far with my results! I’m adding words now so my update will be long enough to post LOL.

Are you happy with your bellybutton?
June 10, 2020
I am "happier" than I was. I'm still very swollen and only 4 weeks post op so I know it will be going through many more changes. It is so much better than it was at first. But if this were the end result, I would be getting a revision. I asked my PS about it and he said it will look much different when I'm done healing.

I am having my surgery in three weeks and this was my fear.. but the surgeon said that I’m getting a mini tummy tuck, so my bellybutton won’t be touched.
