I sought treatment from Dr. Rammos in 2021. At my initial consultation, most of my appointment was spent with Sheryl. She provided information on pre/post op, time of work (2-3 weeks as my job is not physically labor intensive) and payment planning. At the time, I thought Sheryl was an RN or APN- she is not. She is the office manager. I saw Dr. Rammos very briefly, as he basically breezed into the room, snapped some pictures and was gone again.
At my pre-op appointment, more of the same. More pictures and gone again. This should have been the last red flag. Unfortunately, it was not. I went through with my surgery.
Dr. Rammos was over an hour late, and seemed very rushed. Again. Red flag.
Within 2 weeks post op I noticed my left breast was very tender and the incisions seems to be separating. I was told everything looked ok. By 3 weeks post op there was a wound under my breast I could put my thumb in. Again- brushed off. The right breast opened a week later. These wounds took almost another 6 weeks to close. They are still painful and wearing ANY type of bra is painful.
Within a few days post-op I noticed an area on my abdomen that continued to ooze. This was brushed off on all future post op appointments. About 6-7 post op I began noticing pain on my left abdomen and the incision was tender. I was told to "continue basic wound care." About 8 weeks post op it became a tunneling, malodorous, draining wound. At which time I was told to "just cover it" and come back in 2 weeks. I lost all trust in Dr. Rammos at this time. I sought treatment from another physician and required 2 debridements including a 5 day stay in the hospital on IV antibiotics. At this time I have incurred >$77K in hospital/medical bills. My personal insurance will not cover. I am hopeful that the supplemental insurance through cosmetisure will assist.
I have large thick scars under both breasts and a large indented scar on my abdomen that causes me almost constant neuropathic pain.
I don't regret my surgery-- but I completely regret my choice in surgeons.
