11 weeks post op

WORTH IT$7,100
I’m officially 11 weeks post op today and feel great! No more wound issues, still swollen (as expected), still have my lower stomach pooch but the freedom I have with my clothes and my increased confidence has made it all worth it. I did have a follow up last week and Dr Song said everything is healing nicely and my lower pooch is swelling that will go down with time. So I don’t have to see him until I’m 6 months post op, which then I’m debating the scar revision procedure as I have dog ears. As I’m rolling up on 12 weeks, it’s time to part ways with my stage 2 binder and move into a waist trainer, which I will be ordering soon. Stuck between the Yianna waist trainer and another one that was recently recommended. I will post updated pics when I receive it. Happy healing!!!

Hey everyone. So my open wound has healed completely, no oozing and I’ve started castor oil as a scar treatment. The castor oil makes my scar so much smoother and I’m honestly happy with it. My one issue is my lower stomach pooch, it’s not going away. Granted, in the morning it’s flatter but overall it’s still there. I’m still believing this is swelling as I can feel it so hoping it will get better. I haven’t returned to the gym due to my wound healing issues but I’m itching to go back. I also feel like once I return to the gym and eat clean again, my pooch will get better. I’m also thinking of ordering a Yianna Waist trainer to give me more compression since the stage 2 doesn’t hold me in as good anymore. Overall, still happy with my results. I do have dog ears but they really don’t bother me much but I might get a scar revision at 6 months post op. Happy healing.

I see your picture now, you look great but I know what you mean for the little pouch, I am experiencing the same thing and hope it gets better too, even in the a.m. I am not flat flat but the swollen gets worse in the afternoon, I am drinking a lot of water, getting my lymphatic massages every other day and eating as clean as possible so I am just hopping it is a matter of time!!! happy healings!!!!

Thank you. I actually just started the lymphatic massages professionally a couple weeks ago and when I remember, i do them myself at home. I'm sure it would've been beneficial to start these sooner but I just couldn't afford to (time and money).

Hi there, I am 5 weeks post op and have a pouch too. I keep seeing other pics and people have nice flat tummies. I don't think yours looks bad at ALL by the way! I am hoping it's the swelling with mine. I know it can take up to 6-12 months.

Thank you! It's a bit relieving to know it's not just me, but I do understand the 6-12 months to see your final results. I had my 2 month follow up today and asked him about it and he said it's swelling and will get better with time. So patience it is, happy healing!

Almost 6 week follow up- painful!
doveloveme September 4, 2019
So my open wound on my side has become a pain. Dr Song had to open it bigger to find a stitch since he says most times when it happens it’s because a stitch is trying to come out. So he found the stitch to the right side, which was painful since had to dig in the wound. It was bleeding quite a bit and oozing pus and blood yesterday after my appointment. This morning, still pus and blood and now mostly pus but it’s not coming out as much as it did. It does sting some and because the hole is bigger, it’s gross. I’m continuing my treatment plan, which is manuka honey and either neosporin or bacitracin at least 3 times a day and airing it out for a couple hours when i get home. I just hope it doesn’t get bigger or worse so trying to stay optimistic. I was asked if it was worth it and absolutely it is. Despite the swelling and wound issues, i love my new stomach. Also, I asked how to relieve the swelling that seems to have remained in my lower stomach and upper pubic line to which the lymphatic massages and ab board were recommended. I still wear my compression all the time and will switch to stage 2 garment next week. I’ll order the ab board, don’t know about the massages, frankly I just don’t know when I’ll have the time to do them. Any recommendations on wound care or swelling reduction will greatly be appreciated.

How are you doing? Has your wound healed? Tia
September 8, 2019
Hey, I'm doing better thanks for asking. My wound is thankfully on its way to recovering. It's not really oozing anything anymore and looks like if it's on its way to closing up.
September 8, 2019
So glad to hear that!! Happy healing.

Wow long way to go, I hope that closes well at least the Dr found the cause for the swollen how long the pain in the abdomen last? Do you only have pain in your open wound????
September 9, 2019
Thankfully it is on its way to recovery and is closing. It's not really oozing much of anything now and doesn't hurt at all. Also, yes that's the only place I had pain was the open wound site. The abdomen pain? I honestly can't remember lol. That's how minimal it was, hang in there it gets better.

Thanks!!! Ugh the worse part so far is trying to stand up it burns and my breath goes away and my back was killing me but I am walking more straight now and used the walker until yesterday!!!!

Yes once you get over the first 7-8 days, it gets better. I think i felt a change after day 8. I felt more like myself and wasn't walking hunched over too much.
