Dr. Z Needs a Super Hero Cape

He Needs a Super Hero Cape
WORTH IT
Dr. Michael Zwicklbauel aka “Dr. Z” is absolutely amazing. I’ve wanted to have a tummy tuck since giving birth to my son 23 years ago. I lift weights and perform HIIT and nothing improved the appearance or muscle tone of my stomach. I took some time and researched plastic surgeons to perform an abdominoplasty with muscle repair. I met with Dr. Z in July 2018 and finally worked up the nerve to have surgery in December 2019. His amazing bedside manner was apparent from the moment he walked into the room for my initial consult. In addition, his willingness to take the time to answer all of my questions and his portfolio convinced me that he was the man I needed in my life. What was also helpful for me was that he had performed my friend’s surgery and I saw her scars and belly button in person. Dr. Z also had 2 nurses on staff that had abdominoplasty and their willingness to discuss their experiences and share tips on recovery won me over.
The day of surgery I was completely nervous and Dr. Z walked into the room with the confidence and reassurance I needed to be comfortable. He met my husband for the first time during that visit and when Dr. Z left the pre-op room my husband said, “okay, I’m comfortable and I’m sure you made the right decision.” I have previously experienced horrible nausea associated with anesthesia. Dr. Z, the anesthesiologist and his staff listened to my concerns and for the first time in my life I went through a surgery with zero nausea, which absolutely made the recovery easier for me.
I’m three weeks post surgery, my abdomen is tight, and I’m still swollen but I can already see the amazing improvement. My belly button looks normal (no more sad face), the positioning is great, and my scar is low and easily concealed with bikini underwear. I have a history of keloid scarring, a concern that I addressed with Dr. Z during my initial consult and he explained exactly what we’d do to avoid keloid scarring. To date, my scar looks great and flat.
Dr. Z gave me reasonable expectations and he exceeded those. Everything he said he could achieve he did. He’s my new super hero and I’m glad I chose him to restore my confidence and change my life.
