Starting my Abdominoplasty Journey! With Dr. Andres Camayo, Cali, Colombia

Hello, I'm including a few photos of the evolution throughout the process. I'm really well. I didn't have any complications with my incision or my belly button. My experience in Colombia was a little bittersweet due to drama that wasn't related with the doctor. I include this information because you NEED to prepare yourself for anything. Anyway, I stayed in Colombia from March 11, 2024 to April 4, 2024 ((24 days). I had to pay and extra of $1,500 for lipo in my arms. Another important thing is that Before surgery you need to change dollars for COP, because they don't accept US dollars. At least this was my experience. You will need to pay for massages, nurses, fajas, etc. and it was difficult for me (with the pain and the swelling) to go to the ATM at the mall. Remember that you are going to be charged for that transaction and in my case, because I use my credit card (later), I was charged for using it at different country.

Dr. Camayo was very attentive and respectful (and his team). He heard me and validate my concern. He explained his suggestions and we agreed on my procedures. I was very open to suggestions and my expectations were very reasonable. I didn't end up with a drainage, so I was veryyyy happy. After the surgery I went to hyperbaric chamber and the day after the surgery I received my first massage. And let me tell you that it was very different from my other experience. I was uncomfortable but it wasn't painful. Later in the process I developed a pocket in my left side, and they use a syringe to extract the liquid (that was painful but quick). I had to pay for more massages (took massages until April 3). Because for me it was more convenient. The doctor only included 10 massages. At first I only went out the house with their driver, but you can pay for an Uber. The thing with using Uber is that you need to walk, sit, and exit the Uber by yourself. If not, I recommend using the drivers from the house because the help you entering and existing the vehicle. Also they go with you to the doctors office or at least they leave you with someone from the doctor office. I travel alone for my surgery so I end up hiring Dr. Camayo nurses (and extra money). I also paid for an additional faja (at the store). You can have food delivered to you through an app but I recommend you do it when you feel better. Because Dr. Camayo eliminates from your diet things that are going to make you swelling. The cook at house was very nice with me and you can let them know if don't eat certain things. But expect latinamerican food. Also remember that this is not USA, they have power outage. This happens 4 days when I was there. It took me by surprise. Especially the first day that occurred because it was a few days after my surgery. It was very uncomfortable.

Hello Ladies!
Today I arrived at Cali, Colombia!! I'm traveling alone and I'm staying at Imi Recovery House. The facilities are very comfortable, clean and food is very good. They have nurses 24/7, a cook, a cleaning lady and the drivers. I have a private room with a private bathroom. They include transportation but if you need to go to other doctors appointments or the supermarket, you need to pay extra. I brought my post surgery products but you can buy them here. I'm going to stay 20 days AFTER my surgery in Colombia. My doctor won't take the stitches before the 20 days. I will include a picture of their Instagram page.
