Scar Revision Post Cancer Surgery

Last year I had surgery for endometrial cancer. The laparoscopy was converted to open surgery and as I am pretty fit I made a swift recovery. The only thing that caused me major upset was the unsightly mess of my abdomen - this quite literally reduced me to tears. Admittedly I am mid fifties, five foot tall, had three babies over nine pounds but had NEVER had a massive lump sticking out before the surgery. I hated what had been done to me and felt no one gave a damn, people said you're short and slim you look fine. I certainly did not look fine, my torso looked alien. I had a crooked, lopsided scar and my tummy button was permanently bright red and itchy because I also now had a fold of skin over that too. To cap it all I had discomfort permanently on my left side . My husband was great he said just concentrate on recovery and if it does not improve in six months see a plastic surgeon privately. The bulge got worse really as I got fit again so after radiotherapy finished I began my search. How fortunate I was to find Mr Evriviades. I got very upset at our first meeting but he was extremely sensitive to my humiliation and distress. Having to look at myself in my underwear in a full length mirror was frankly awful but I quickly felt very reassured by him and confident he was the right man for the job. He was very clear about what had caused the problem and immediately told me how he could fix it, the limitations of what he could achieve and how much better I would feel about myself. He could not have been more right. I opted for this to be done locally and it could not have been better. I was first on his list very early which was perfect. He came to see me before the surgery and confirmed what was to be done. I was back in my room after two hours or so and had sensation but NO pain. This man has literally enabled me to be myself again. In essence he reconstructed my abdomen. He cut out the crooked scar and made a new straight one, I had a blast of liposuction and he even managed to show my tummy button the light of day again...Mr Evriviades has made it possible for me to be confident again in terms of how I look. He is sincere, caring, diligent and extremely skilled at what he does. It is only five weeks since the procedure and I am delighted with how I feel and look already.. but it's improving all the time. I hope I never have to see him again but I shall be eternally grateful to him always.
