Nerve pain

So about my searing pain... I messaged Sabala about the pain in my hip. He said I would need to take Lyrica. Actually he said the medical name but I can’t remember it right now. So I went to my gp and told her the situation and what he had said and she agreed. She wrote the prescription and off I went. Well it turns out that my insurance wouldn’t cover it so I ended up with Gabapentin which after about 12 hrs works like a charm. I’m so happy to be pain free again that people at work assumed I was high. Lol

12 weeks post op

Ok so I’m a couple days shy of 12 weeks and got a couple pics. I’m happy with the work done but at the same time a bit disappointed. I was hoping that the my belly isn’t flat due o swelling but Dr. Sabala says it’s a combo of fat and swelling and that I will need a second round. I am a million times better then when I started but I’ve seen girls bigger then me get amazing results so I’m a bit sad. I will be back exercising as soon as I’m healed and have gotten back on track with my eating. I have to admit I haven’t been eating great lately so time to get motivated.
On another note starting about 5 days ago I began experiencing extreme pain in my hip below my scar above my left leg. Almost into my pubis. It ranges from extreme burning pinching I want to cry pain to my skin being hypersensitive in that spot to no pain at all. From what I’ve read this is the nerves regenerating and will go away in time but for now it’s excruciating. Feels like I’m being stabbed. Hopefully it will go away as suddenly as it arrived.
I’ve attached a couple pics. A before and today along with some others from today showing my swelling/fat.

This has been the best and most thorough review ever. Thank you so much for the honesty and information.

I feel great. The nerve blockers are doing their job. Lol if I sit still or lay down for to long I get stiff and I still swell a lot and wear my faja every day but I feel really good. I’m so much more confident and happy since I had it done. When are you having your surgery?
July 8, 2019
Well my original plan was to go November, but my son goes back to school August and with tuition etc that May keep me from going then. So maybe December or even January. What was your total cost? Some people say they brought extra money with them and they are glad they did.

Surgery was 6500 I think including recovery house and the extra stuff I had done. Definitely bring more money. You’re gonna want food, medications, fajas, touristy stuff, massages, tips and some recovery houses offer other services like permanent makeup or vein treatments so just have at least 1k extra. And make sure you have a cc with access to more just in case. I got stuck in Miami. No one took cash. So I was all prepared for the DR and had all this cash and was not prepared to have my bank decline my card for hotels, food and stuff in Miami because I hadn’t planned on using it and didn’t tell my bank. Always prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Also bring pj pants and tank tops. Your comfort clothes here are a lifesaver there!!

How did you get the meds here? When you told our doctor here, did he or she try to convince you otherwise? Did they issue your meds?
July 8, 2019
My drs here didn’t issue me meds. They thought I was nuts but wished me well. I only took Tylenol, ibprofin and Tylenol pm with me as far as pin meds go but while I was there my roommate at the time gave me 4 Vicodin. And that girl was an angel. I only took one on day 1 post op and 1 day 2 when it was really bad. And I lived but if you can get anyone to give up meds before you come I really recommend it.
July 8, 2019
Ask you ps what they give out for meds and see if you can get something stronger. It seemed in my recovery house that all the drs seemed to give out the same stuff. We were all miserable together. Here in the US the people I know who had surgery or all kinds of meds for those first few days

Ok. So what day did you feel like you could go back to work? I don’t lift anything my job is pretty chill. I’m trying to take the right amount of time off

If you have a sit down desk job, I’d say 2 weeks after a tummy tuck if you have to but I’d recommend 3 weeks. If you stand, move, have to lift or climb then take a full month off. I was great at 3 weeks ready to go back to my pretty active job but the moving made me swell more and I had complications that I probably would not have had if I had waited just a bit longer

Hey! You look awesome. I feel bad about your healing though. How many lymphatic massages did you get in total?

I think I had 6 or 7 in the Dominican and my fiancé was amazing about rubbing me when I got home. It really helps with the swelling.

So it's been a rocky road. I took my drain out at 15 days post op like the dr said and ended up developing a seroma. I tried to get ahold of dr sababla to ask questions but his assistant never messaged me back. She didn't even read my messages.
I finally ended up getting his direct number and that has been much better. He responds within a few hours and is very helpful.
I have to say the drs here have made things very difficult. I had to see three different ones before I finally ended up with a drain back in. That went back in around 4 weeks post op and was draining 30cc's plus every day until it broke at 7 weeks post op. Luckily I haven't developed an additional seroma since.
The seroma caused my belly button to swell and rip the sutures. It wasn't pleasant at the time and will now be scared but it did heal and I'm happy. I'm currently 9 weeks post op. And I have to say I'm starting to see the results. My back and butt turned out well. My butt is a bit flatter and not quite the shape I was looking for but is starting to fluff and is definitely better then it was before.
My belly however is still a swollen mess. I look great in my faja but when it's off my belly is never flat, not even close and swells so fast that showers are uncomfortable.
I can't tell if it's the swelling or if my belly button is off center but it looks slightly off like I'm twisting in the waist.
I'm hoping that when the swelling stops I will have the results I'm looking for. I just was able to order a med faja after being in a large tie whole time. If anyone has suggestions on swelling I'm open to them!
I have a very active job that I went back to at 3 weeks post op. I'm guessing that most of my swelling is due to the fact that I shouldn't have been so active so soon. I do wish I had taken one more week off.
I think he did a good job. My body just wasn't happy with me about it. The only thing I am upset about is that I paid to have my arms and inner thighs lipo'd and he only did the bottom of my arms so the backs look good but the inner part is still pretty fatty. That is ok though what bugs me is my thighs. He only did the front part of my inner thighs. So they still touch. He didn't do the whole inner thigh. It looks better but I was expecting to have a bit more gone and don't understand why he stopped where he did.
