Dr. Mata is in a League of His Own. He’s a Unicorn.

Okay, I finally have time to post some pictures. I will post a small timeline of photos from week one till now, at week 7. I use a red light therapy on my scar diligently, silicone scar cream daily, and I use the Ogee massage wand on my tummy daily; as well as I wear my fajas still every day and sleep in them. I really like the brand bonito but they don’t make them anymore, so I use my old one but also use forma Tu Cuerpo and the ogee faja. I also use the ogee fibroguard even though I don’t have liposuction on my abdomen just my flanks, I still use it to keep my skin soft and supple. I feel like this combo has really helped me and protects my investment. I do believe how you convalesce is extremely important for tip top surgery results.

I have seen and been treated by a few different plastic surgeons over the span of 2 decades. I am 40 now and this surgery has been a breeze compared to surgeries I’ve had even in my early 20s. All the surgeons in the past I went with were all generally good BUT their skills were not even in the same league as Dr. Mata! Even his staff, you can tell he has lovingly and carefully curated with great pride, because they are all graceful, smart, and kind. I felt so safe, appreciated, cared for, and listened to.

I have quietly observed and experience first hand Dr. Mata’s high emotional intelligence. Not only is he eloquent with his bedside manner, but he is truly the best of the best artistically with his craft! I feel this with all my heart, as I have experience with 4 other surgeons before him from California to Utah. I’m only 4 weeks out from my tummy tuck revision and I already feel so beautiful and healthy! I have been chasing my pre-baby body for decades and he gave it back to me! ????

Another important thing to me is, I am mixed/ mestiza. To be exact, I am half Zuni Pueblo Native American and half Dutch. My body type favors my Native American side (for reference my natural body type is same type of the late Selena Quintinilla ) because of that I feel like other surgeons in my past just had a hard time understanding my body type. Dr. Mata understood my body type and spoke my natural curve’s language. However, I believe his talent and skill is great enough to understand any and all different body types… but for me it was the first time I ever encountered a Doctor that understood mine and I am beyond over the moon happy and excited!!! I feel like crying every day because I’m so happy!

I’m so grateful for Dr. Mata’s expertise and his amazing team. Also, the anesthesiologist that was there for me on surgery day was also an angel from heaven I swear on my life she was! I plan on going to see Dr. Mata’s wife soon and having her do some little things for me too. I usually get little fillers and Botox in Tucson a few times a year, but I just want to be solely with Dr. Mata and his wife now when it comes to my body and face.

Your body is your temple. It’s sacred. It is so scary to trust others with your life and your body. The vessel that carries you through this life, hugs your family, loves your children, and presents your light to the world. However, Dr. Mata genuinely has my trust with my temple and I’m so grateful I finally found a brilliant doctor that gave me what I dreamed of and knew before I ever gave birth. Bring on the string bikinis and skinny dipping this summer! .
