I went for a Tummy Tuck July 16, 2019 so far no regrets, I’m still a little swollen and I still feel the tugging and pulling in my abdominal area and I’m only two weeks post op and so far so good. Dr. Gunn is really nice and very professional and as far as I can tell he’s done an awesome job. I’ve seen pictures of other women who’ve had a tummy tuck and I feel really bad for them their stitches are so wide and bloody. My stitches are hardy noticeable even right after surgery there was hardly any blood any where and the pain was minimal. If your in the Birmingham AL area and need a TT I really recommend Dr. Stephen Gunn.

I’m now 7 weeks post op and I didn’t put any pictures because of personal reasons, but so far so good. I still get a bit swollen but it goes and comes. I’m using a silicone scar gel that I ordered from amazon right now, I did use the Biocornium for the first 6 wks and wanted to try something different and it’s working quite well. I’ve got a long way to go and the pain in the first few weeks was hard to deal with but in the end I’m sure it will be so worth it, I just wish I would’ve done it years ago when I was younger. So if your wanting to do it just do it.

I used Dr. Gunn too. LOVE him. My TT, breast augmentation, and lipo was 3 weeks ago tonight. I wasn't able to have both drains removed last week, which initially disappointed me, but after it clogged one day, I was glad I still had it.
I am pleased with my results, but I am still bruised and in some pain. I don't seem to be bouncing back as quickly as I thought I would. I haven't been out much in 3 weeks since I still have the drain so I think I'm just getting depressed. I have an appointment tomorrow, but I'm still having too much draining.
Since you are a few weeks ahead of me, does this seem like the same path you were on or am I'm recovering more slowly? Like I said, I'm pleased with the results, just frustrated that I feel like I'm doing something wrong.
Thanks for listening! I'm so glad we share a wonderful doctor!

I had the first drain removed at about 2 wks and second at about 3 wks, when both drains are removed it feels really good, a sense of relief. Sorry I just saw your question just today that’s why I’m answering so late. You’ve probably have gotten it removed by now, but like I said there are days I feel really good and my abdominal area looks great and there are days my top abdominal area seems really swollen and I feel a little pain on my lower abdominal area. So we’ll see how it goes. How’s your recovery going?

It started out great I was very excited about my surgery and couldn’t wait to totally heel, well now I’m 1 year 3 months post-op and I feel so disappointed in my results my upper abdominal area is still bulging out and gets really swollen even if I go for a short walk, I’m still wearing the compression belt most of the day because of the swelling, my belly button is off center more to my right, I have one very obvious dog ear, a small bulge of fat on my Lower left abdomen and pudgy vaginal area and uneven flanks(which I payed to have liposuction). I went back to see Dr. Gunn at I think it was 3 months post op where he initially said he’d fix everything at no cost and he’d just use a local anesthetic, then I went for another post op appointment at around six months and was told by Dr. Gunn it was going to be $1,500 charge because he didn’t think a local anesthetic was a good idea being I needed a lot of work done and that fee would be just for the Anesthesiology and I said okay, three months had past this is during first wave of Covid 19 and I didn’t go back afraid of getting sick and they were also closed for 6 wks, I also had other medical issues to worry about. Anyway I called to see if they’d still honor the $1500 fee and to see if I can make an appointment and I was told that they were no longer honoring that fee and that I would have to pay $2600.00, needless to say I was very upset and might’ve got anger at the wrong person which was the poor nurse I was talking to. Dr Gunn saw me again to reassure me that it wasn’t him but that the anesthesiology fees have gone up, as soon as I walked into the exam room he had my fat belly pictures up on the computer screen and a post op picture of me (which I purposely sucked in my stomach so the picture could look better ) to show me basically how bad I looked before the TT. Anyway he was as polite as usual and gave me a estimate of $2600 again to do the revision surgery and promised me that price wasn’t going to change.
