Tummy Tuck Lipo & Bbl Experience with Dr. Medina
WORTH IT
My experience with Dr. Medina was ok, overall. I had my surgery at beginning of September. She is very nice & comforting. However her office is a bit small. I did notice that out of all the doctors at Cecilip, her office is one of the busiest. So the waiting time can vary if you have appointments with her. Meeting with Medina, I thought was very fast. About 5 minutes to discuss plans for surgery & have pictures taken. Day of surgery was fine. There were a total of 5-6 girls including myself waiting to have procedures done. I see Dr. Medina before surgery where she outlined procedures. They make sure you have fluid iv and other checking before surgery. Inside surgical room there was 4 people including Medina. Was never given a blue pill. Just anesthesia by needle. Took only seconds to work. I did wake up 2x during surgery. This isn’t anything to be afraid of. You cannot see or feel anything. They will make sure you go back to sleep. Surgery team was great overall. Once I wake up I am in the recovery room where there’s 4 other girls some are from my doctor and other doctors patients. You will have to stay in recovery for a few hours then you will be sent to your private room in the hospital. Rooms were decent. Top floor rooms are much nicer. Only given to patients who have to stay in hospital overnight before surgery that may need accommodations or have other health concerns. Durning my overnight stay at the hospital after surgery I did experience nausea & vomiting most likely from anesthesia. The overnight nurse was very nice & helped me through the post process. The surgery itself wasn’t painful, just very uncomfortable. My stomach had been sewn so tight that it had been hard to stretch straight up for the first few days. In my honest opinion the liposuction may have been more painful because it turns sore from the bruising. Dr. Medina did come to my room to check on me & make sure everything looks good & even gave me a rose. I thought that was a nice gesture.. but ok let’s talk about the drain. The drain for this procedure is placed from one side of your stomach through the back to the other side of stomach.. it’s probably the most discomfort you will have during your recovery but it is vital to your recovery. Also massages. They are important, & painful yes.. but after you massage the fluid gets moved around so you will not feel heavy or as uncomfortable once after the massage. The massage at Medina’s clinic was too painful to continue. They need someone there who is better at post op care. She is also not fluent in English. Every 2/3 days or so I would go to Dr. Medina’s office to check in with her & the visit would not be long with her. She is just checking for infection or abnormalities. Staff will clean wounds and redress. I was forced into my second stage faja 4 days post op. At first I disagreed because my body was very sore still but I managed to go from a medium to extra small size. I will add another review for recovery house that I stayed in. I just want to keep that review separate from Medinas review. Although there were some minor concerns with Medinas office, I can say overall I would still choose her again.. They were a good choice for me.

RealSelfCare!!
So far pretty good. Seeing most of these reviews have made me feel pretty comfortable as far as having work done by Dr. Medina. I’ve been looking into her work for some time and I feel pretty confident that I will have the results I’m looking for. 1. Sent out email asking for a quote on TT/Lipo/BBL ( which are most common for her line of work) got a pretty detailed quote with a break down. 2. Dr. Medina has consistently responded & has given satisfiable feedback. 3. Recovery house! Eeek! Not too sure, haven’t heard too many good things about them. Also seen a few in doing my research & doesn’t look like it’s something I’d consider know the level of comfort I need. Honestly having the staff available 24/7 is a plus & ideal. However my comfortability is more of my concern after a procedure of this nature. 4. There are videos I find helpful on RS under Dr. Medina, of what to expect and how this procedure is done. 5. Keep a positive attitude during this process. This has to be something you desire and are realistic about. There may be some people who you share your thoughts with about having this or other types of sx done & they can fill your head with anxiety. If you don’t have anyone close to or positive to talk to, share your thoughts & stresses on RealSelf with other girls in your mind frame. Looking to go in beginning of September, hoping my partner will attend with me. If this doesn’t work out that way I’m always down for a SX sis. Even still willing to be a support if I am accompanied. Keep in mind everyone is entirely different in many ways & what someone experienced you may or may not. Also Dr. Medina has some good standing behind her if you read her profile bios, it will also give you a bit of history on her experience. Best of luck Barbies!!
Quick info:
I’m 30 years old. Looking to have TT/Lipo/BBL. mother of 10 year old, only child. 5”6 140lbs. Sagging stomach with stretch marks. Love handles, take away from my shape. Other than that pretty slim frame. Petite butt, but could be lifted for tightness. Realistically looking to have smaller, fatter waist.. curvy but slim figure & tight butt.
