Drains are out! I feel 10,000xbetter!
Compassionate3843December 2, 2019
WORTH IT$8,800
The drains are no joke! For me, they have been the worst part of the whole thing. The closer I was to getting them out the more sore they were. It’s hard to explain the feeling, but it is soon forgotten once they finally were removed. The doctor said I don’t have to wear the binder at night, but I’m a pretty rough sleeper. I find comfort sleeping in it. So for now, it’s staying on. Stitches, and drain openings are healing well

1st Shower Post Op
Compassionate3843November 20, 2019
Today I got to take my first shower post op. It took everything, I mean everything out of me. I thought I was recovering well. It sounds so crazy that taking a shower can just wear you out. Good news, I got some snapshots. Upper abdomen is still swollen.

Hello, thanks for sharing, you look great! How much weight did you lose just from the skin they took off? I have a similar shape belly as your and am wondering how much weight it is

The Nurse took the binder off, and I caught a glimpse!
Compassionate3843November 20, 2019
So I had a check up today. The nurse took my binder off, removed the dressings, and I was able to catch a glimpse. Then I got to take a hunched over look in the mirror while standing. I couldn't believe myself. Even though I had some swelling above my belly button the large amount of hanging skin was gone...IT WAS REALLY REALLY GONE!!! The belly was beautiful! The doctor seemed pleased with his work too. Then the binder went right back on. Tomorrow I will get to take a shower and take pics WITHOUT the binder. I will add them as I can. Until then, I'll leave you with my pre-appt pics

Surgery is this Friday at 7am! 1 more day I am freaking haha

I tried to stay busy so the excitement wouldn't overtake me. Soooo happy for you! I read your story, but didn't see any pics. Seems like we are very similar. In just a little bit I will get to take a full fledged shower. YES!

Haha thankfully I'm working until the day of surgery so that keeps me pretty busy! It's weird to not really have anyone to talk to about it so I am thankful for this site!
I was thinking of posting some before pictures today so I will do that shortly. It scares me to put that out there but it's been such a challenge to find people with a similar body and situation that if it can help anyone, I'm willing to do it haha.
You must be stoked for your shower! I bet you'll feel like a new woman!!

How exciting! I hope everything goes well for you! The first couple of days were blurry. I kept up on my pain meds. My incision site isn't sore. I REALLY was able to take it easy. I had a couple of meals preplanned, and so that was simple. The drains were the biggest struggle. They came out from my hip area. After the drains were removed, it has been soooo much better. I don't go back to work for another week. Glad I was able to take the time off. Now to get some stamina built up. Let me know if you have more specific questions. I'd be happy to answer them. Again, I hope everything goes great for you!
