2nd week post op wrap up

imyajaira
$8,000

Post op day 10 was the first day I was clear to shower and it was amazing! Abs still sore from muscle repair and incision still sensitive

Post op day 11 was when my incision started itching like crazy, but still sensitive to touch so I spent a lot of time patting the area to refrain from scratching myself. Spent an evening with friends attending the Janet Jackson concert. I wish I could’ve danced my heart out, but I was able to sway the night away.  Post op day 12 was finally comfortable enough to roll on my belly to sleep (I’m a belly sleeper so this was the first time SINCE surgery that I got any real sleep.  Post op day 13 my abs aren’t sore anymore and I’m bored with restrictions. I feel pretty good and I want to go for a run. I miss breaking a sweat.  Post op day 14 see above

I'm just now sleeping on my side on my bed again: my hubby wanted me back but I stayed in a rental recliner till about Day 13. I think I will wait about another week and my doc's approval before sleeping on my belly!

Pre Op pics and 2nd post op visit

imyajaira

So I had my 2nd post op visit yesterday and it went well. JP drains were removed and sutures taken out. I finally got to see my incision in it’s full glory and it’s daunting to say the least. I have a feeling I will have dog ears and I still feel upper abdomen fat that I will have to lose and hope that my skin retracts and doesn’t sag. But it’s only a week since my surgery and a lot can change.

Dr. Halpern is impressed with his work and I am too when I look at the before shots. My belly normally didn’t stick that far out, because I was CONSTANTLY sucking it in.  So there are pics of me letting “all the air out”  There are pics of my diastasis recti and how Dr. Halpern stitched me back up.  And there’s a pic of me one week post op. I have to wear a compression garment for the next 2 months.

Ready for progress

I go for my 2nd post op visit tomorrow and I can’t wait. I can’t believe how super boring it is to recover on a recliner and do nothing. I’ve been watched so much TV. Hopefully I will have less restrictions.

Right there with you! I think we had surgery the same day- 7/26? I have my 2nd post-op visit tomorrow too. Let me ask- what in the heck are you finding to wear that a)fits over compression garment b) hides it? It is hotter than hades here too so not loving the idea of long pants/ skirts
August 2, 2018
Yes! Last Friday! Like I wore a tank top and loose pants home and now I’m just wearing like boho loose dresses. Like something you could wear to the beach. Yes it’s too hot even for this binder!

Ugh- agree! The binder ends up nasty sweaty when I am outside more than 5 min
