After three big babies and endless weight looks efforts that have not been able to budge my ugly saggy pouch. After much deliberation my husband and I saw Dr David Sharp. He was amazing. Friendly, personable and knew exactly how to make me feel comfortable.
Surgery is booked for 6 December 2017!!! As I’m a student nurse this was the only date available which would allow me adequate healing time before I have to start my semester next year. I’m a bit nervous but cannot wait for results.
I’m also hoping to lose another 10-15lbs before the surgery too.

Getting ready

Because the time from booking the surgery to the actual surgery itself is such a short time frame I feel a bit unprepared so I'm scrabbling around to organise my room to get ready for when I come home, to get all my accessories ready. So far I have bought black bed sheets, a foam wedge to prop myself up and pillows for under my legs. I found a toilet training pad that goes on beds that I will put underneath me so that any leaking fluids won't ruin my mattress. I've also organised bed bath wipes for the first few days after surgery because I can't shower but want to be able to freshen myself up (this is the nurse in me wanting to use bed bath wipes!). I still have to get some button up pajamas, some black towels and some shoelaces to hold my drains up. It's all getting real now! I'm so excited!

Two weeks today until the flat side!

Today is two weeks until my surgery. I paid my anaesthesiologist’s and the surgeon’s fees today so things are getting real. I have a to do list of things I want to get done around the house before my surgery so I’m like a crazy cleaning machine. I’ve also started setting up my area for my recovery. I have organised my paracetamol, burfen, laxatives, eye mask and pillows sorted out. I still have to buy a pair of button up pjs and probably more pillows. I found a foam wedge I thought would be a great idea to prop me.
I’m starting to feel a bit nervous about the recovery process. The idea of how much pain I’m going to be in is starting to become a reality. Thankfully I have an amazingly supportive husband and Mum who will be helping me with the recovery.
I asked my surgeon about adding lipo to my inner thighs in addition to the TT, lipo of the flanks and back bra roll. But I was super surprised that it was going to be a additional $6350 in addition to the $16,900 I’m already spending. I know he wasn’t keen on it and this additional fee certainly reflects that. I feel disappointed that it was so much extra. I was really hoping to be able to add the inner thighs and add to the overall look after my surgery.
I’ve also found a pair of jeans that I am using as my goal jeans post op.
