10 weeks post op

Just adding some pics from 10 weeks after my surgery. I also finally got my first post-op Brazilian bikini wax, I just made sure the waxer didn’t do it directly on the scar (had to tweeze there instead — luckily still pretty numb, otherwise ouch!)

Not much has been going on, feeling pretty normal besides being a little sore still (feels like I did a good ab workout). No pain anymore, and only slightly uncomfortable when sneezing or coughing. I had my post-op appt and my surgeon was happy with how everything looked. She said I can stop wearing the binder now but that I may want to wear it when I start working out... but it would just be for my own comfort, not medically necessary. I haven’t started working out so haven’t tried it out either way yet. It felt so weird to stop wearing the binder!! And I practically instantly started swelling and have been swollen since then (about 2 weeks later) but it seems to be subsiding a bit. It’s definitely worse when I’m on my feet more, like shopping or doing housework. Oh, and my belly button seems to be a bit of an “outie” though it doesn’t actually protrude, it just is flush with my stomach. My surgeon said at my 1-year post op appt if it hasn’t flattened more, she could revise it easily in the office. But I kind of like it so not sure if I’d do that. I’m definitely in the school of thought of “quit while you’re ahead!”
I think that’s all I have to report — just feeling pretty normal! I started using silicone scar strips and cream. I’ve also gained about 3 lbs because having a super tight tummy feels like a free pass to eat more! I definitely need to get that back under control.

When you would swell weeks or months after your surgery, did it make you feel so tight you were gonna bust or that you couldn’t take good deep breaths? Or was it not that bad? Thanks.

I’m feeling much happier with my belly button placement now that things are settling and I looked at some of my old pre-baby pictures... she actually did a great job placing it. I just have a short torso so it seemed low compared to other pics I had looked at. The incision is higher than I had hoped but I’m sure she had a good reason for that? And it runs right into my pubic hair so could I really wear a bikini that low? Maybe after some more laser hair removal. My stomach feels super tight and I love that, though I still don’t feel like I can stand completely straight up because of the tightness. Anyone else feel like that still at this point? A piece of my steri strips shifted so I got a peek at my scar... not bad!

It took me several weeks to feel like I could stand completely straight. If I remember correctly I was standing straight after the 1st week, but then around week 4 and 5 I would think that I was standing straight up, but then would be slightly hunched still and only noticed it in pictures lol. I will be 12 weeks next Wed so it does get much easier! Especially around week 6!
Look at that flat stomach! You are going to feel great and be running in no time. Take it slowly......after all of this it is not worth taking chances. Happy holidays and thanks for sharing.
I am at 4 weeks tomorrow and still cannot stand up straight and feel super tight. It will heal nicely. I am still very uncomfortable and cannot wait for the pain to go AWAYYYYYYYY. Just know you are not alone.
