WORTH IT
My experience with Dr. Gear and his staff was amazing. Everybody is extremely responsive, courteous and knowledgeable. From the front desk staff, to scheduling, to his surgery tech and especially himself. Through our virtual consult he answered, every question that I had along with additional questions that I was able to have addressed by the surgery tech. Initially I was extremely nervous about the procedure but after arriving for the surgery the day of operation, all of my fears went away. Members of the Office staff continuously checked on me throughout the process and his surgery tech Kristi is extremely personable and gave me all of the information that I needed, she was and is very assuring and made me feel extremely comfortable. She was extremely patient and kind.
Right before I was taken back to the OR room, I was met by the anesthesiologist who gave me an overview of what to expect as well as what he would be doing throughout the procedure. I am 11 days postop and I am very happy with my results. Looking forward to the evolution. I am a mother of 8 and I had a diastasis recti about 5 inches wide along with stretched loose skin that I could not get rid of. See the pics; right before and right after, 2 days pre op and 8 days post op.
As far as my experience, I thought this would be similar to a c section which I had with my twins. It was not. The severity of the muscle plication needed for me cause extreme discomfort (remember I had about 5 inches worth of muscle separation prior to the procedure). Day 3-5 were the absolute worst for me but every day there after was better. As you are instructed to move around a little each day, I did that and after day five I could really tell the difference in how it was helping my recovery process. I had a small amount of Lipo done around the flanks. The soreness is still present at day 11 in the Lipo sites. The most painful portion of this procedure was the muscle plication. The tummy tuck it’s self did not seem to bother me as much as the muscle repair. Any concerns I’ve had since the procedure, I was able to reach out to Dr. Gear directly and he has responded pretty much right away unless he was preforming a surgery. If you have any questions about the process or additional information, feel free to contact me and I’ll be more than happy to give you information.
