WORTH IT
It has been 1 full month since my surgery and the recovery has been smooth going. Girin took very special care of my recovery and saw me for one last check up before returning back home. The tummy tuck incision is probably the slowest recovery. The top part of the tummy tuck incision is still a little swollen. I hope that it starts to flatten out to match the bottom half.
I also completed a second 5 lasers treatment. The results from the first were great so it will be very exciting to see how my skin looks after 2.
Overall, I am looking forward to returning in a few months for the second session for the breast fat grafting.

I found Girin while researching plastic surgery clinics in South Korea through UNNI, online reviews, before-and-after photos, and Google searches. I reached out to several clinics that offered WhatsApp consultations and shared detailed information about my medical history and the procedures I was considering.
Girin immediately stood out as the most responsive and informative clinic. Their team provided a clear and thorough online consultation, answered my questions in detail, and followed up in a timely and professional manner. I also appreciated their transparency and competitive pricing, which felt very reasonable compared to other clinics I contacted. The strong reviews, consistent before-and-after results, and smooth communication gave me confidence in their expertise and safety-focused approach.
When I arrived in Seoul for my in-person consultation, that confidence was reinforced. Dr. Song Jae Yong and Dr. Park Deok Jun were highly knowledgeable and addressed all of my concerns with care and professionalism. Their experience and specialization were evident, and I felt reassured by their thoughtful recommendations and advanced techniques. The interpreters supporting the doctors were excellent—clear, attentive, and supportive—which made communication seamless and stress-free. The staff overall was friendly, professional, and focused on patient safety, confirming that I had made the right choice in choosing Girin.
After having three children via C-section and nursing for several years, my body changed in ways I could not correct despite consistent exercise. I chose abdominal surgery to address the persistent “tummy shelf” above my C-section scar and diastasis recti. I also opted for fat grafting to the breasts to restore volume lost from nursing and achieve a more natural look. While in Korea, I decided to proceed with eye procedures—a brow lift, double eyelid surgery, and lower blepharoplasty—to reduce drooping and create a more youthful appearance. After years of feeling strong but not fully confident in my appearance, these procedures felt like the right choice for me.
Surgery Experience
Following my in-person consultation, I felt confident proceeding immediately. Dr. Song Jae Yong and Dr. Park Deok Jun carefully reviewed my concerns, explained realistic expectations, and made recommendations that prioritized safety and long-term results. Their calm, professional approach made me feel completely at ease. The interpreters ensured smooth communication throughout the process, allowing me to feel fully informed and comfortable with my decision.
Healing Process (Day 1–7)
The total surgery time was approximately seven hours, and I stayed overnight for monitoring. The first few days were the most challenging, mainly due to throat soreness from anesthesia and swelling around my eyes. By Sunday, I began to feel noticeably better. My throat discomfort had significantly improved, though occasional coughing was still painful. Getting out of bed became easier by using my legs to assist my core, and abdominal discomfort did not limit my ability to walk for longer periods.
Eye swelling required more frequent icing, particularly on my left side, which remained more swollen than the right. While there was no pain, my left eye watered more than usual, which was more annoying than concerning. Using a cold compress eye mask throughout the day helped minimize the swelling.
On Monday, I returned for a follow-up visit. The doctor checked my belly button and abdominal incisions, and the nurse cleaned my wounds. I was cleared to wash the lower half of my body, which was a huge relief—especially since I had started my period. I also asked about the swelling in my left eye, and the doctor reassured me that this was normal and can sometimes increase before fully resolving. He confirmed everything looked as expected and that continued icing was optional.
Whenever concerns arose—such as early nausea or uneven eye swelling—the team responded promptly and thoroughly. The follow-up visits, wound care, daily injections, and clear recovery instructions made me feel supported throughout the entire process. The staff remained attentive and reassuring, which made recovery much easier both physically and mentally.
