Tummy tuck and liposuction to flanks and thighs

3.5 week post op

WORTH IT$15,000
For those of you in the first few days after surgery — the pain and discomfort gets significantly better in the third week. Hang on ! The weird nerve sensations from the Lipo is much improved (worse at night), and my Abdominal pain from stitching muscles is almost gone (except when I sneeze!). I finished my antibiotics and I do not feel a lot of fluid building, but I do feel a little swollen. The bruising is dissipating too. I can’t imagine doing a tummy tuck without a recliner, so if you have not had surgery yet and don’t have one, I bought a cheapie from Big Lots for $250 and it has been worth every cent. My biggest issues now are itching at incision, sleeping well, and I fatigue easily . I’m starting to wear a different compression garment that is less noticeable in the day under clothes and my surgeon-provided wrap at night. (I’ve managed to do this survey without telling my teenagers.) I didn’t take before pictures, but my dr did. I’ll post those after I go back and get them, and hopefully after I lose another 7 lbs. I’m committed to feeling healthier and leaner, after this pain. Ha! Three week post photo provided. Happy healing, everyone. Pick a good surgeon- it’s your body!

I am almost with you there. I am at 1 month post op and still not finding the relief you have described. I am looking forward to that though. You're looking great and so happy you are feeling somewhat better.
How are you feeling now? I hope better! You look good.
I am having my surgery in 2 weeks. I don't want to tell my kids. How did you keep if from your kids?
If they live with you there will be no hiding that something is wrong. Otherwise, just keep visits to phone calls, Zoom and when you are ready see them go for it! I am almost 3 month out and probably 65% recovered. (you can read by progress on my page) Maybe say that you don't want to risk getting sick with Covid and that may help. Let me tell you I would not want to risk getting sick, and do not let anyone around. The surgery pain is bad enough, you can't cough or sneeze proper. Cannot imagine being sick on top of recovering from surgery. Anyway, good luck. You have all us supporting you. In the end I know it is all worth it.

Healing!

The antibiotics appear to be working and the fever is gone. The culture results are not in yet, but I saw my dr yesterday. He drained another syringe, but much less fluid (1/3 syringe) . He calmed me down significantly! I was concerned I might need a repair surgery to stop the hematoma, but he explained that it was probably from a torn stitch under there and it was resolving. Whew! I don’t see him again for several weeks unless I observe too much fluid or fever. So, I’m starting scar treatment, wearing my binder 24/7 very tight, and limiting activity. I’m optimistic and ready to feel normal. I’ve lost an additional 5 lbs, and I’m going to lose 7 more. I’ll post new photos in a week or so. Happy healing everyone.

I hope you're doing well and glad the fever is gone.
You look FANTASTIC and it doesn't look like you have much swelling. You must be thrilled with your results.
So glad your fever has gone and you're feeling better.

I have my TT on the 18th Dec. My surgeon has said that I may have to have a vertical scar below my navel as I may not have enough skin to pull down. I really hope not.
Happy healing. X
Glad you are healing!! That's great that you are in such good hands with your attentive doctor. Did he say it was fine to start scar cream? Mine won't let me until she sees me again at 7 weeks and I'm really wanting to start ASAP.
yes, my dr gave it to me. I apply it over the tape, which I remove, clean the incision, put on the tape, and then the scar cream morning and night. it feels so good, too!

Bump in the road

My dr has been thorough, available, proactive and terribly kind. But in any surgery, you can have a setback. Last Tuesday, I had my drain removed and he noticed I had a good bit of swelling below and along my incision. That night, I began to develop mild fever (100.2) and chills. The next day he prescribed an antibiotic and scheduled an appointment for Thursday. On Thursday, and again Friday, I had the fluid drained through my incision. Not fun. He sent if off for culture, and prescribed a second antibiotic out of an abundance of caution. He checked in on me personally both days and saw me on his day off. My fever has abated, but I can feel fluid still building so I don't know what that means. I go back this Tuesday. Praying it resolves on its on. I know I am in good hands though. Taking it easy, eating well and have my compression binder extra tight. I hope it doesn't affect my result; I am keeping my eye on the result rather than this.

Hang in there. You really do look great. Whatever you do, make sure you keep the hubby and kids doing the laundry. Don’t you dare lift anything or bend over to do anything you’re not supposed to do. Remember that the inside needs to heal as much as the outside does. Are you applying anything to the scar? When I had my mastectomy the doctor had me apply SkinCeuticals healing gel for the scarring and it works wonders so be sure to ask your plastic surgeon about that. it needs to be applied twice a day for the first several months and even up to a year. One tube lasted me over a year. It will be worth it in the end. Hang in there.
Thank you so much for the encouragement. I really appreciate it. I also got the scar cream so I just started applying it. I go back tomorrow...fingers crossed. Happy Thanksgiving.
