I can’t say enough positive comments about Dr Renucci and his staff especially his nurse Julie! The whole experience has been amazing and life changing. My pre op, surgery, and post op went flawlessly and my results are more than I could have ever imagined! Thank you for everything Dr. Renucci!

I am 5 days pre-op and worried that I won't feel any different afterwards, I'll always see myself as a "fat kid".
Even after 100 lb weight loss (natural/lifestyle change) I have pockets of fat, extra skin, and heavy thighs. I've NEVER had a solid core even at the peak of health (workout 5 days a week, running 1/2 marathons, etc). I'm having tummy tuck and breastblift with diastasis recti and hernia repair.

Can you offer insight.... I'm worried about 2 major things -
1 - I won't feel different even if I look different. I'll still act and dress like I have extra loose skin. Do you recognize and are comfortable with what you see when you look down or in a mirror?
2 - maybe just me, but with very heavy thighs, I'm worried I'll severely disproportioned. I've always had an hourglass shape but will be more bottom-heavy post-op

Thanks for sharing your experience!!

2 Weeks Post op!!

Well I made it to the flat side!!! I had a tummy tuck, muscle repair and lipo to the back and flanks. Recovery has been good..first week was rough but manageable, second week it got much better! They took off 7lbs of skin and two liters from lipo. So happy I made this decision and can’t wait for my end results!! Still pretty swollen but manageable... ask away if you have any questions!!!! Here are some before and afters.

You look good and I am happy for you. What are you doing right now to make the recovery easier for you? I have a consultation with a Dr. in April and I am so excited for the future. Did you have exparel or just pain medication like percocet to manage the pain?
I did have the exparel shot and I think it's 100% worth it. I was only on norco for three days and then just Tylenol. I haven't taken any pain meds for the last week. Yes I am sore but not enough to take meds for it. Based on my research and other groups I am part of the exparel is a game changer in terms of pain if you have muscle repair done! Just lots of rest, protein, and water for my recovery. Also I walk every two hours or so it helps loosen everything up.
Thanks for your response. How many days did the exparel last for? Are you still feeling some areas on numbness on your body? I am so excited but nervous at the same time? Do you have a walker ? I hear that being hunched over can be painful to your back so people say to use a walker for like the first week. Have the drains been removed? And if so, are you still leaking fluid?
How long as your swelling lasted ?
Swelling was the worst the first couple of weeks and then slowly went away. I feel like at 6-8 weeks it was pretty much gone. I still feel like every once in a while when I eat really bad that day lots of salt and carbs I swell up big time. I also think that I always did its just more noticeable now that all that extra skin and fat are gone!
